JYP Entertainment stated that the decision not to renew Junho’s contract was reached after extensive discussions. “After long and thorough discussions, both our company and the artist have mutually agreed not to proceed with a renewal of the contract,” the agency said. Though Junho had renewed his contract multiple times in the past, both parties agreed it was time to move forward separately.
Despite the contract ending in South Korea, JYP Entertainment will continue to manage Junho’s activities in Japan. This ensures his promotions and engagements in the region will proceed.
