The hit drama 9-1-1 is set to return from its seasonal break, and the winter premiere will address the major health cliffhanger involving one of the team’s most beloved paramedics. After a fall finale that left a first responder’s future in doubt, the show is coming back with intense new emergencies and personal challenges.

When and Where to Watch

9-1-1 Season 9 Episode 7 will premiere on Thursday, January 8, 2026, on ABC. The episode will air at its regular time slot of 8:00 PM Eastern Time. For viewers in other U.S. time zones, it will be shown at 5:00 PM Pacific Time and 7:00 PM Central Time.

The episode will be available for streaming on Hulu the following day. Cord-cutters can also watch it live through streaming services that carry ABC, including Hulu + Live TV, DirecTV Stream, and FuboTV, or via the ABC website and app.

A Tense Cliffhanger for Hen

The fall finale, titled “Family History,” concluded with a worrying development for firefighter-paramedic Henrietta “Hen” Wilson. During a rescue call at a spa, Hen began experiencing severe, uncontrollable hand tremors while trying to assist a patient. She managed to hide the symptoms from her colleagues but later collapsed at home, losing consciousness for hours.

Worried about her condition but not wanting to alarm her family or team, Hen secretly returned to the medical spa to undergo a full-body CT scan. The episode ended without revealing the results of her scan, leaving her health status unknown and placing her ability to perform her duties in serious question.

What’s Next in Episode 7

The preview for the winter premiere shows that Hen’s condition will worsen at a critical moment. She confides in Athena Grant about her health struggles, but the situation escalates during a massive emergency call.

The 118 team responds to a significant house fire, and Captain Chimney orders Hen to perform a search and rescue operation inside the burning building. While inside, her medical issues resurface, and she faints within the fiery structure. The preview ends with Chimney urgently calling for her over the radio as she lies unconscious.

With Hen incapacitated, paramedic Eddie Diaz will need to step up and take charge during a separate emergency involving a pregnant woman in active labor, testing his skills in his new role.
