Elon Musk, the ubiquitous tech entrepreneur behind Tesla, SpaceX, and social media platform X (formerly Twitter), has recently become a father for the twelfth time. The news comes after reports surfaced that Musk and Shivon Zilis, Director of Special Projects at his brain-computer interface company Neuralink, welcomed their third child together earlier this year.

While details surrounding the birth, including the baby’s name and gender, remain private, Musk confirmed the news to Page Six. He also disputed claims that the child’s arrival was kept a secret. “As for ‘secretly fathered,’ that is also false,” Musk stated. “All our friends and family know,” he clarified, further adding, “Failure to issue a press release, which would be strange, does not mean ‘secret.’”

This latest addition marks Musk’s third child with Zilis. The couple previously welcomed twins in 2021, though their names haven’t been made public.

Musk is known for his ambitious ventures and relentless work ethic. However, his personal life has also garnered significant attention, particularly the size of his growing family. In addition to his children with Zilis, Musk shares three children with musician Grimes: X Æ A-Xii, Exa Dark Sideræl Musk (also known as Y), and their youngest, known simply as “Baby X” or “Tau.” He also has five children from his first marriage to Justine Wilson, including twins and triplets. Tragically, their firstborn son died of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) at ten weeks old.

The lives of Musk’s children are largely shielded from the public eye. In 2023, Grimes, who shares three children with Musk, took to X (formerly Twitter) to advocate for their privacy. She also addressed headlines surrounding her relationship with Zilis, emphasizing mutual respect and a desire for their children to have a positive upbringing together. “It’s ironic,” Grimes wrote, “because people rarely focus on how nurturing and caring [Zilis] is towards all her kids.” She further criticized the tendency to “pit women against each other” in the media, highlighting her positive interactions with Zilis and their shared goal of raising well-adjusted children.
