This is the first time since the ‘Burning Sun’ scandal.
Recently, actor Byeon Woo Seok’s security team received harsh backlash for its “over-the-top” behavior at the airport.
An online video revealed Byeon’s security guard using a flashlight at civilians to prevent them from filming. The video went viral online, with many criticizing the security team’s actions.
The security team CEO quickly admitted that “it was the security guard’s fault for having shone the flashlight” and “wished to deeply apologize for making civilians uncomfortable.”
Most recently, although Byeon Woo Seok’s agency issued an official apology online, they still received criticism from netizens.
Additionally, Byeon Woo Seok’s controversy made headlines on Chosun Ilbo’s society page, garnering much attention online. The newspaper devoted half a page to the news with the title, “Did a celebrity rent out Incheon Airport? Security guards stop passengers and even check passports.”
They even added a diagram to show the process of his departure from the airport.

In Korean culture, it’s considered a huge issue if it is displayed on the social page of the newspaper. It was revealed that Byeon’s airport security controversy was the first to be on the main page of the society page since the Burning Sun scandal.
