The Reunion That Started With Siblings

Nam Ji-hyun and Kim Jae-yeong previously appeared together in the 2018 drama 100 Days My Prince. In that series, they played siblings. Make Me Tingle puts them in a romantic pairing for the first time, and both actors have spoken about the shift.

“It was a great honor to work with Nam Ji Hyun again in ‘Make Me Tingle’ following our time in the drama ‘100 Days My Prince,’” Kim said in an interview with Soompi.

Nam described Kim’s off-screen presence as the opposite of her own working style.

“Kim Jae Yeong is fundamentally delicate, kind, warm-hearted, and tender,” she said. “While I tend to be the type who silently focuses on work on set, Kim Jae Yeong is someone who leads the atmosphere and brings out energy and laughter.”

How the Leads Rate Their On-Screen Chemistry

Chemistry scores are not a standard press metric, but Nam Ji-hyun gave hers a number that went past the maximum.

“Kim Jae Yeong is fundamentally delicate, kind, warm-hearted, and tender,” Nam told Soompi, giving their rapport 110 out of 100.

Kim Jae-yeong gave the pairing a 100 out of 100 and called the experience a happy one. The two actors also explained that their characters argue often because they see the same situations in completely different ways. Nam said the conversations between them drive the drama, and the story is about how they slowly melt into each other after that friction.

Why the Title Changed Before Premiere

The show did not always carry the name Make Me Tingle. Its working title was “뉸어” (Nyun-eo), a shortened, slang-style name. The production later changed it to “내가 떨릴 수 있게”, which translates to Make Me Tingle or Make Me Tremble, for a more public-friendly naming. The change was reported by Korean media in August 2025, two months before the first teaser arrived.

The Confucian Philosophy Hiding Inside the Comedy

The show’s premise sounds like a standard opposites-attract rom-com, but its background is more specific. Gong Yeon-su was raised in a head family that follows strict Confucian customs, including ancestral rites held several times a year and an expectation that she marries before turning thirty. She was sent to women’s schools for her entire education and was taught that men come first.

Her decision to take a marketing job at a sex-toy company is described by Nam Ji-hyun as “the first act of rebellion in Gong Yeon-su’s life.” The show frames that choice as a small break from a lifetime of rules, not a sudden personality change.
