Taylor Swift showed her support for Travis Kelce in a heartfelt moment during her concert in Miami. On October 20, while performing in the middle of her Eras Tour, the singer subtly acknowledged her boyfriend’s latest NFL win by changing a key lyric in her song Karma, much to the delight of fans in the audience.
Special Tribute in Karma
Swift couldn’t attend Kelce’s Kansas City Chiefs game against the San Francisco 49ers that day due to her show in Miami. However, she found a way to celebrate his victory. At the end of her concert, while performing Karma, Swift sang, “Karma is the guy on the Chiefs coming straight home to me,” replacing the original lyric, “Karma is the guy on the screen.” This change was a tribute to Kelce, 35, marking the first time Swift performed the modified version when he was not in attendance.
The lyric switch first made headlines when Swift sang it during her show in Argentina last year, with Kelce present. He was seen blushing during the moment, accompanied by Swift’s father, Scott Swift, who happily patted him on the back.
Kelce’s Family Shows Support in Miami
Although Kelce couldn’t attend the concert due to his game, his family made sure to show their support. His mother, Donna Kelce, was present at Swift’s first Miami show on October 18, along with Kelce’s brother, Jason Kelce, his wife, Kylie, and their two daughters. The family’s presence highlighted the strong connection between Swift and the Kelce family.
Earlier in the month, Swift and Kelce had spent quality time together in New York City during Kelce’s bye week from football. They were seen dining together on multiple occasions and even attended the New York Yankees vs. Cleveland Guardians playoff game on October 14.
Swift’s Return to the Stage After Two-Month Break
Swift’s Miami performances marked her return to the stage after a two-month break, during which she was frequently spotted supporting Kelce at his games. Reports also surfaced that she had thrown a surprise birthday party for him during this time. The Miami concerts brought plenty of excitement, including a special appearance by Florence Welch, who joined Swift to perform their collaboration track Florida. The two had previously performed together in London at Wembley Stadium in August.
Adding to the excitement, Swift wore a new jumpsuit during the Reputation portion of her concert, fueling speculation among fans that the release of Taylor’s Version of her 2017 album might be closer than expected.
Star-Studded Audience in Miami
Swift’s concerts are known for drawing celebrity attendees, and her Miami shows were no exception. Tom Brady, Hoda Kotb, Savannah Guthrie, and Serena Williams were among the notable figures in the audience during her return to the stage in Miami.
As Swift prepares to perform in New Orleans, Indianapolis, and Toronto in the coming weeks, excitement around her tour continues to build. The final show of the Eras Tour is scheduled for December 8 in Vancouver.
Before wrapping up the tour, Swift also announced the release of a special tour book featuring 500 unreleased photos from various stages of the Eras Tour. The book will be available exclusively at Target stores, offering fans a unique way to relive the memorable tour moments.
