Model and actor Park Sung Jin, ex-boyfriend of Moon Ga Bi, has responded to accusations that his rap song “Yellow Niki Lauda” targeted actor Jung Woo Sung. The song, released on December 31, 2024, sparked controversy because some lyrics seemed to reference Jung Woo Sung‘s past controversies.
The Controversy Surrounding the Rap Lyrics
The lyrics in question included lines like:
“You rejected my baby with a face full of rage. I won’t show you mercy. You can go and embrace your refugees.”
These lines led many to believe that Park Sung Jin was criticizing Jung Woo Sung for not acknowledging his child with Moon Ga Bi, while publicly supporting refugees in the past.
Park Sung Jin’s Clarification
On January 3, 2025, Park Sung Jin addressed these accusations, stating that he did not intend to diss Jung Woo Sung. He explained:
“I had wrote it to be comedic, but it seems like people are dissing me. Let me correct you. I did not write it to particularly side with anyone, unlike the dramatic gossipers had hoped for. I only did it as a social commentary. If you ask me why I had any right to mention it in the first place, I will say that I think I have equal rights as anyone other keyboard warrior right now. I’m not someone who is caught up in the past, and those lyrics are just one out of many punch lines. That’s all there is to is. I will go back to my normal life of being ambitious for the happiness of one woman and my two french bulldogs.”
He clarified that the lyrics were meant as a “social commentary” and not a personal attack on Jung Woo Sung.
Background on Jung Woo Sung’s Past Controversy
In 2018, Jung Woo Sung received criticism for his support of Yemeni refugees who arrived on Jeju Island. At that time, the island’s visa regulations allowed foreigners to enter without visas, leading to an influx of around 500 refugees. This situation caused discontent among local residents, some of whom accused the refugees of not being genuine and simply seeking to occupy the land.
Jung Woo Sung‘s public support for the refugees was later brought up again in 2024 when he faced criticism for allegedly not “embracing his child” with Moon Ga Bi. Some people viewed this as “hypocrisy,” contrasting his support for refugees with his personal life.
