Song Hye Kyo Discusses New Projects
On January 21, 2025, Song Hye Kyo attended a press screening for her new movie, Dark Nuns, alongside co-star Jeon Yeo Been. During the event, she spoke about the film and also gave some information about her upcoming drama with Gong Yoo, Slowly and Intensely.
Song Hye Kyo revealed that filming for Slowly and Intensely began two weeks prior to the interview. She described the experience as new and fresh, given that it’s a period drama. To fully embrace her character, she even cut her hair. While she admits things still feel a bit unfamiliar, she expressed optimism about the project, emphasizing the positive atmosphere on set created by her colleagues.
She also discussed her collaboration with writer Noh Hee Kyung. Song Hye Kyo highlighted the extensive discussions and script readings they had before filming started. She also mentioned that their conversations extended beyond work, often including casual chats during their meetings.
Details About Dark Nuns
Dark Nuns is the second film in the series that began with The Priests, which starred Kang Dong Won and was released in 2015. The sequel tells the story of Hee Joon, a young boy believed to be possessed by an evil spirit. The film follows the efforts to save him. Sister Junia, played by Song Hye Kyo, is determined to rescue Hee Joon and is supported by Sister Michaela, played by Jeon Yeo Been, throughout her challenging journey.
Father Paolo, played by Lee Jin Wook, a psychiatrist, believes that medical intervention is the best way to help Hee Joon. In contrast, Father Andrea takes a different approach, performing exorcisms in an attempt to rid the boy of the dark force. The film shows their combined battle of faith, science, and willpower against evil.
