Recent rumors linking actor Choi Hyun-wook to Kim Sae-ron’s 2022 drunk driving incident were quickly debunked. Reports confirm the passenger was a woman in her 20s. This clears up any false claims about Choi Hyun-wook’s involvement.

Debunking the Rumors

Speculation started when a Chinese blogger claimed Choi Hyun-wook was in Kim Sae-ron’s car during the incident. The blogger further alleged that Gold Medalist, their agency, hid this information. These claims caused a stir online.

The Truth Revealed

Netizens responded by pointing to a Korean news article from Bridge Economy, dated April 12, 2023. This article, titled “Court Sentences Kim Sae-ron’s Passenger to a 5 Million Won Fine for Aiding Drunk Driving,” provides crucial details.

The article states, “A 21-year-old woman who was in the passenger seat during actress Kim Sae-ron’s drunk driving accident was sentenced to a 5 million won fine in the first trial for aiding and abetting drunk driving, as ruled by Judge Lee Hwan-ki of the Seoul Central District Court on April 12.”

This statement confirms that the passenger was a woman in her early 20s, not Choi Hyun-wook. She was also found guilty of aiding and abetting drunk driving.

Further disproving the blogger’s claims, it was confirmed that Choi Hyun-wook attended the late actress Kim Joo-hyuk’s funeral. This detail counters any claims that he was absent from important events.
