A social media post from the producer of “The Remarried Empress” has fans buzzing, seemingly confirming the casting of Shin Min Ah, Lee Jong Suk, Ju Ji Hoon, and Lee Se Young. The historical drama, based on a popular web novel, has sparked intense interest due to its potential star-studded lineup.

Production Hints at Cast Confirmation

In January 2025, reports indicated that the production team had approached Shin Min Ah, Lee Jong Suk, Ju Ji Hoon, and Lee Se Young for main roles. While the actors’ agencies remained silent, a recent post by producer Joo Seung Hwan has ignited speculation.

On March 19th, TV Report revealed that Joo Seung Hwan posted a picture of an airplane on social media, signaling the start of production. The key detail was the inclusion of hashtags featuring the names of Shin Min Ah, Lee Jong Suk, Ju Ji Hoon, and Lee Se Young. This has led many to believe that the casting is now confirmed.

A Powerhouse Cast and Production Team

If the actors are officially confirmed, the drama is poised to become a major hit. Each actor brings a wealth of experience from successful past projects. The series will be directed by Jo Soo Won, known for his work on “Pinocchio,” “I Hear Your Voice,” “The Time We Were Not in Love,” and “Still 17.”

The story of “The Remarried Empress” centers on Navier (Shin Min Ah), the empress of the Eastern Empire, who decides to divorce her husband, Emperor Sovieshu (Ju Ji Hoon), after he plans to make his mistress, Rashta (Lee Se Young), empress. Navier then chooses to marry Heinrey (Lee Jong Suk), the crown prince of the Western Kingdom.

This drama will mark the third collaboration between Ju Ji Hoon and Shin Min Ah, following “The Devil” and “Kitchen.” It will also reunite director Jo Soo Won with Lee Jong Suk after their work on “Pinocchio.”

Anticipation Builds for Disney+ Release

The highly anticipated drama is scheduled to premiere on Disney+ next year. While official confirmations from the actors’ agencies are still pending, Joo Seung Hwan’s post has significantly increased the likelihood of their participation.
