Fans were surprised when EVERGLOW’s leader Sihyeon spoke directly about the group’s future during a TikTok Live session. The news came after reports confirmed all six members decided not to renew their contracts with Yuehua Entertainment. Sihyeon made it clear that EVERGLOW will not disband despite leaving the company.
Yuehua Entertainment officially announced the end of their contracts with EVERGLOW on May 13, 2025. The agency thanked fans for their support and wished the members success in their future activities. EVERGLOW debuted in March 2019 and gained global fame with hits like “Bon Bon Chocolat” and “DUN DUN.”
During her live session, Sihyeon reassured fans that the group will continue. She said, “We don’t have any thoughts… we don’t think about disbanding EVERGLOW. [We’re] just… Yeah, leaving the company guys.” She also mentioned that all members share the same mindset about staying together.
The group’s future had been uncertain after member Yiren revealed in March that she and the other members had not been paid in six years. Yuehua’s CEO responded by saying the company had invested heavily in EVERGLOW and had not yet recovered the costs. Fans criticized the company for poor management and lack of promotions.
EVERGLOW’s last comeback was in June 2024 with their single album “Zombie.” Despite their success, the group faced long breaks between activities, leading to concerns about their future. Sihyeon’s confirmation that they will stay together has given fans hope for new music under a different agency or as an independent group.
Netizens reacted strongly to the news. One fan wrote, “Yuehua never managed them properly, but at least EVERGLOW is sticking together. They deserve better.” Another added, “They had so much potential, but the company wasted it. Hope they find better support now.”
Sihyeon also addressed fan opinions about leaving Yuehua. She said, “Every fan wants [us to] leave YueHua, isn’t it?” Many fans had been urging the group to change agencies due to dissatisfaction with Yuehua’s handling of their careers.
EVERGLOW’s members have already started preparing for their next steps. While their future agency plans are unclear, Sihyeon’s words confirm they will keep performing together. The group’s strong bond and fan support may help them rebuild their career independently.
