British actor Aaron Taylor-Johnson has become the center of James Bond rumors after signing a deal with Omega, the luxury watch brand famously linked to 007. Fans believe this could confirm he is the next Bond.
Omega announced Taylor-Johnson as their new global ambassador last week. The actor visited their headquarters in Switzerland and shared photos wearing an Omega watch. The brand has been the official timepiece of James Bond since 1995’s GoldenEye, worn by Pierce Brosnan and later Daniel Craig.
Many fans noticed that both Brosnan and Craig became Omega ambassadors before being officially announced as Bond. This pattern has led to speculation that Taylor-Johnson’s deal hints at his casting. Social media exploded with reactions, with users calling it a “major hint.”
“Bro has to be the new James Bond at this point,” wrote one Instagram user. “Do I hear the 007 theme?” added another. Some simply asked, “Is this a hint?” while others declared, “Hello Mr. Bond, we have been expecting you.”
Omega’s CEO, Raynald Aeschlimann, praised Taylor-Johnson as a “versatile actor” but did not mention Bond. The actor himself has avoided confirming rumors, previously saying, “It’s not really for me to say anything.”
The James Bond franchise has been searching for a new lead since Daniel Craig’s exit in 2021’s No Time to Die. Amazon MGM Studios now holds creative control, and reports suggest they want a younger Bond. At 34, Taylor-Johnson fits the age range producers reportedly seek.
Other actors like Henry Cavill and Theo James were also rumored for the role. However, Cavill recently signed with Longines, another watch brand, which fans see as ruling him out. Eddie Redmayne, another Omega ambassador, is considered too old at 43.
Taylor-Johnson is known for films like Bullet Train, Kick-Ass, and Nocturnal Animals. His action-heavy roles and suave style make him a fan favorite for Bond. Industry experts also support the idea.
“He’s got the right look to play Bond,” said pop culture historian Roy Schwartz. “If you’ve seen Bullet Train, you know he looks good in a suit.” Film critic Tim Stevens added that his age is perfect for a long-term commitment.
Omega’s partnership with Bond is strong, with special edition watches released for films. The brand has not commented on the rumors, but fans remain convinced. No official announcement has been made by Amazon or producers.
Taylor-Johnson’s upcoming projects include 28 Years Later and Nosferatu. Whether he becomes Bond or not, his Omega deal has kept the rumor mill active. The next 007 film is expected to begin production in 2026.
