BTS member Kim Taehyung (V) is set to complete his military service on June 10, 2025, and fans are excited about his next steps. Director Uhm Tae-hwa, who worked with V on IU’s music video Love Wins All, has openly expressed his desire to collaborate with the star again, possibly in a full-length film.
The director praised V’s acting skills and professionalism during their two-day shoot for Love Wins All. He revealed that V filmed the music video just before enlisting, showing strong dedication to the project. Uhm Tae-hwa even said he would create a special role just to work with V again.
Director Uhm Tae-hwa Praises V’s Acting and Passion
At the 2025 Muju Film Festival, Uhm Tae-hwa shared behind-the-scenes details about working with V. The music video was shot in just two days, with V enlisting in the military immediately after.
“He filmed with us almost right before enlisting, cut his hair right after filming, and then left the next day. That’s how much he wanted to do it. He was very passionate about it. That’s when I realized he had a real desire to act.”
Uhm Tae-hwa, known for his award-winning film Concrete Utopia, also mentioned that he sent V a message ahead of his military discharge. He hopes to work with him again, saying:
“For me, if Taehyung were willing to do it, I’d be so grateful. I’d love to work with him, even if I had to make up a role just to ask him.”
V’s Creative Input Changed a Key Scene in Love Wins All
Originally, the final scene of Love Wins All was supposed to feature V and IU crowd-surfing in wedding dresses. However, due to time constraints, V suggested a different approach.
“As a director, I really wanted to film that scene. But Taehyung convinced me. He said, ‘Instead of this, how about we film another scene better?’ He talked me into it, and he was right.”
The change helped the team focus on other important scenes, and the crew cheered when V announced the decision.
Fans Anticipate V’s Return and Possible Acting Projects
V’s military discharge is tomorrow, and fans are eagerly waiting for his next move. His role in Love Wins All received massive praise, with the music video gaining over 95 million views. Many hope he will pursue more acting roles after his service.
Korean fanbase “V INSIDE” organized a musical fountain show at Ilsan Lake Park to celebrate his return. The event featured his solo track Slow Dancing and BTS’s IDOL, showing strong fan support.
What’s Next for V?
While BIGHIT MUSIC has confirmed that V will greet fans in Chuncheon after his discharge, his future projects remain unannounced. Given Uhm Tae-hwa’s interest and V’s proven acting talent, a film collaboration could be a strong possibility.
V previously acted in the 2016 drama Hwarang and has shown a growing interest in acting. With his military service ending soon, the entertainment industry is watching closely for his next steps.
