Former THE BOYZ member Ju Haknyeon has sparked mixed reactions online after releasing a lengthy statement denying allegations of soliciting prostitution. The controversy began when photos of him with former Japanese adult film star Asuka Kirara surfaced, leading to his sudden removal from the group.
Haknyeon shared his side of the story on Instagram on June 22, 2025, claiming his agency, One Hundred Label, unfairly terminated his contract. He insisted the accusations were false and suggested the scandal was orchestrated to justify his dismissal.
“Unable to accept such an unreasonable demand, I refused to sign the termination agreement on June 17, 2025. The very next day, the agency abruptly released an official statement announcing my departure from the group. This was before any Shลซkan Bunshun article had been published. Immediately after, reports started appearing about me meeting an AV actress, and then a shocking exclusive from TenAsia accused me of prostitution. Based on that report, I was instantly branded a sex offender by other media, bloggers, and YouTubers.”
He also revealed that someone filed a police report against him for prostitution, which he called baseless. Haknyeon vowed to take legal action against the journalist and media outlets spreading the claims.
Agency and Public Reactions
One Hundred Label responded by denying Haknyeonโs claims, stating his contract was terminated fairly due to behavior damaging the groupโs reputation. They warned of legal action if he continued making “false accusations.”
Meanwhile, Asuka Kirara denied any involvement in prostitution, clarifying on social media that she never engaged in paid s*xual acts with Haknyeon.
Netizens, however, are growing tired of Haknyeonโs repeated denials, especially after photos showed him being affectionate with Kirara. Many criticized him for not addressing rumors that he bragged about sleeping with her.
“Canโt believe heโs doing this again after the backhug photos were released.”
“I think he didnโt solicit prostitution, but heโs just a bstard who lusts over girls.”*
“Reading his post, it seems like he hired a lawyer. So go and fight the battle legally instead of whining here.”
Haknyeon plans to sue for defamation, while his former agency stands firm on their decision. THE BOYZ will continue as a 10-member group. The case remains one of the biggest K-pop scandals of the year, with legal battles expected to unfold in the coming weeks.
