Marvel’s animated series Eyes of Wakanda premiered on Disney+ on August 1, 2025, as a four-episode miniseries. Fans who enjoyed the show are asking why there won’t be an Episode 5 or a continuation. Here’s everything you need to know.

Eyes of Wakanda Was Always Meant to Be a Miniseries

Eyes of Wakanda was designed as a limited anthology series, meaning it was never planned to have more than four episodes. Marvel Studios confirmed that the story wraps up neatly in Episode 4, with no unresolved cliffhangers. The show follows Wakanda’s secret warriors, the Hatut Zaraze, as they recover stolen vibranium artifacts across different historical periods.

Each episode stands alone, exploring different eras—from ancient Greece to 1896 Ethiopia. Since the series was structured this way, adding more episodes was never part of the plan.

“The show was meant to be a self-contained miniseries with a definitive ending after the fourth episode. Marvel Studios confirmed that Eyes of Wakanda would not be renewed after its initial release.”

No Plans for Season 2 or Additional Episodes

Despite fan interest, Marvel has not announced any plans for Eyes of Wakanda Part 2. Unlike ongoing Marvel shows like Loki or What If…?, this series was always intended to be a one-time exploration of Wakandan history.

The show’s creators, including Ryan Coogler and director Todd Harris, focused on telling a complete story in four episodes. There are currently no discussions about extending the series or making a sequel.

“At the time of writing, there has been no confirmation about a part 2 or additional episodes. The possibility of Eyes of Wakanda season 1 episode 5 will not happen because the show was meant to be a limited series.”

What Happened in Eyes of Wakanda Season 1?

The series follows Wakanda’s elite spies as they retrieve stolen vibranium across history. Key moments include:

  • Episode 1: A former Dora Milaje warrior, Noni, hunts a rogue Wakandan pirate called The Lion.
  • Episode 2: A Wakandan agent betrays Achilles during the Trojan War to recover vibranium.
  • Episode 3: Introduces Jorani, the MCU’s first female Iron Fist, in 15th-century China.
  • Episode 4: A Black Panther from the future warns Wakanda about an alien invasion, changing history.

The final episode connects to Black Panther (2018), revealing that a stolen vibranium axe led to Killmonger’s rise. This twist confirms the series is part of the main MCU timeline.

Why Fans Want More Episodes

The show’s unique animation style, historical depth, and MCU connections have made it popular. Some viewers hoped for more stories, especially after seeing:

  • Jorani (Iron Fist) – A new hero who could appear in future MCU projects.
  • The Horde – A future alien threat that might return in movies.
  • Time travel rules – Different from Avengers: Endgame, allowing history to be rewritten.

However, Marvel has not hinted at continuing the series.

Where to Watch Eyes of Wakanda

All four episodes are available on Disney+. Since it’s a miniseries, no new episodes will be added. Fans looking for more Wakandan stories can wait for Black Panther 3, which is currently in development.
