After 11 weeks of intense competition, the journey on Boys II Planet has reached its finish line. The survival show concluded on September 25, 2025, with the announcement of the eight trainees who will form the new project boy group, Alpha Drive One (ALD1). Lee Sang-won’s first-place finish grants him the center position in the group and a solo song on their debut album . The group is expected to promote for a contract period of five years .

Meet the Members of Alpha Drive One

Lee Sang-won, a 22-year-old South Korean trainee from GRID Entertainment, was a consistent favorite throughout the competition. He is a former member of the pre-debut group Trainee A, and a fan-cam of his “Whiplash” performance surpassed one million views on YouTube within a day .

Zhou An Xin, a 19-year-old Chinese artist signed with CHROMOSOME and Nouer Entertainment, maintained a strong position in second place for much of the show. He was previously a contestant on another audition program, Make Mate 1 .

He Xin Long is a 20-year-old Chinese rapper under NCC Entertainment and JYP Entertainment. He is already known to fans as a member of the group BOY STORY, which debuted in 2018. During the show, he went viral for a moment that made Planet Master San laugh .

Kim Geon-woo secured his spot as an independent trainee. The 22-year-old South Korean artist had trained for seven years with four different companies and was a consistent high-ranker on the show .

Zhang Jia Hao, a 23-year-old Chinese singer, is also signed with CHROMOSOME and Nouer Entertainment and was a contestant on Make Mate 1. He gained attention for his smooth dance moves during a “Chains” performance .

Lee Leo, a 23-year-old Korean-Australian trainee from GRID Entertainment, was part of the yet-to-debut duo Leo & Sangwon with fellow winner Lee Sang-won. He had previously debuted as a solo artist and was a member of BIGHIT’s pre-debut group Trainee A .

Chung Sang-hyeon, an 18-year-old South Korean rapper signed to WAKEONE, is the youngest member, or maknae, of the group. He gained popularity for his visual appeal and his cute, proficient English skills, having spent part of his childhood in the Philippines .

Kim Jun-seo, a 23-year-old South Korean performer from OUI Entertainment, is already an active idol as a member of the boy group WEi. He previously won another survival show, Under Nineteen, which led to his debut in the group 1THE9 .

Finale Highlights and Performances

The final episode featured the top 16 contestants divided into two teams for a last performance. The teams performed two new songs: “Brat Attitude,” an EDM hip-hop track, and “Never Been 2 Heaven,” a funky upbeat track .

Mnet has already announced a new survival series spinning off from Boys II Planet. The show, titled PLANET C: HOME RACE, will feature the eliminated Chinese contestants and is scheduled to premiere in December 2025 . This will give another chance for C-group trainees to debut.
