Netflix has released the first character posters for The Witcher Season 4, giving fans a dramatic look at the new face of the series. The images officially introduce Liam Hemsworth as Geralt of Rivia, marking a new era for the fantasy show as it heads toward its final chapters. The posters also highlight the core cast and new allies, setting a dark and gritty tone for the upcoming season, which premieres on October 30, 2025.

A New Geralt for the Continent

The newly released character posters focus on the main players who will drive the story forward in Season 4. The visuals confirm Liam Hemsworth’s take on the White Wolf, showcasing the classic Geralt look with white hair, scars, and the iconic wolf medallion. The posters present a Geralt who appears leaner and more grizzled, suggesting a version of the character who is constantly on the move.

The images balance the familiar dark and bleak landscapes of the Continent with the subtle changes that a new lead actor brings. The promotional materials aim to maintain the show’s core identity while allowing Hemsworth to put his own stamp on the monster hunter.

The Supporting Cast and New Faces

The character posters extend beyond Geralt to feature the characters standing alongside him. The collection includes posters for Princess Cirilla (Freya Allan), who sports a bold new hairdo, Yennefer of Vengerberg (Anya Chalotra), and Jaskier (Joey Batey). Each poster is designed to tell a short story about its subject, hinting at their personal journeys and the emotional challenges they will face.

A key new ally featured is Regis, played by Laurence Fishburne. The posters introduce his character as a worldly and enigmatic barber-surgeon with a mysterious past. His arrival is one of the season’s most anticipated additions. Other new cast members include Sharlto Copley as the bounty hunter Leo Bonhart and James Purefoy as Skellen.

First Glimpse of Hemsworth’s Geralt in Action

Alongside the posters, Netflix released the first clip of Liam Hemsworth as Geralt in action. The footage, shown during IGN’s Fan Fest, features Geralt and Jaskier chained to pillars before being freed by the vampire Regis. The clip offers fans a first look at Hemsworth’s demeanor and voice in the role.

Showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich explained the thought process behind recasting the lead role. She emphasized the need for an actor who could balance a strong physical presence with a deep emotional side.

โ€œWhen we were looking at who potentially could fill the shoes of Geralt, there is a physicality that has to be present,โ€ Hissrich said. โ€œYou need someone who you can imagine can excel at these action scenesโ€ฆ What I really loved about Liam’s workโ€ฆ is that he was able to organically blend those two things. He didn’t have physical scenes and then emotional scenes. He was able to really carry this specific, I guess I call it soul.โ€

The Story Ahead in Season 4

The fourth season continues the story after the continent-altering events of Season Three, which left Geralt, Yennefer, and Ciri separated by a raging war and numerous enemies. The new season finds their paths diverging as their individual goals become sharper. According to Netflix, the characters will “stumble on unexpected allies eager to join their journeys,” and if they can accept these new “found families,” they might have a chance at reuniting for good.

The season will adapt storylines from Andrzej Sapkowski’s novels Baptism of Fire and The Tower of the Swallow. Production on the fifth and final season, which will adapt The Lady of the Lake, is already underway.

The release of the character posters and clips signals the start of Netflix’s promotional push for the final leg of The Witcher’s story. The strategy aims to build excitement, reassure fans about the new direction, and attract viewers with the promise of epic action and deep character drama.
