Chicago Med Fall Finale: Lenox Attacked After Checking on Abuse Victim

The fall finale of Chicago Med Season 11 left a main character’s life in peril. In Episode 7, titled “Double Down,” Dr. Caitlin Lenox is violently attacked by an abusive husband after she leaves the hospital to check on his wife. The episode ended on a major cliffhanger, with Lenox lying unconscious on the floor.

Lenox’s Dangerous Mission

The tense situation began when Devin Carter, a patient with a history of domestic violence, arrived at Gaffney Chicago Medical Center. He claimed his injuries were from a hockey accident, but Dr. Lenox and Dr. Ripley noticed defensive wounds on his hands and grew suspicious about the whereabouts of his wife, Faye.

Their concerns grew when they tried to call Faye and discovered Devin had her phone. Worried that calling for an official welfare check would take too long, especially with a severe storm affecting the city, Lenox decided to take action. She left the hospital and drove to Devin and Faye’s home to check on the woman herself.

Upon arriving, Lenox found no one answering the door. She used her umbrella to break a window and get inside. Her worst fears were confirmed when she discovered Faye at the bottom of the basement stairs, badly beaten and unable to move.

A Shocking Attack

With no cell phone service in the basement, Lenox told Faye she was going upstairs to call for an ambulance. As she reached the top of the stairs, she heard a banging noise, which turned out to be a door slamming shut from the wind. The moment she relaxed, Devin appeared behind her and struck her in the head with his gun. The episode ended with Lenox collapsing to the floor, leaving her fate unknown.

Meanwhile, back at the hospital, Dr. Ripley was deliberately delaying Devin’s discharge to give Lenox more time. He was unaware that Devin had already left and that Lenox was in grave danger.

Other Hospital Drama

While Lenox faced her crisis, other doctors dealt with their own challenges. Dr. Hannah Asher and Dr. Dean Archer were treating Jeremy Lockhart, a cancer patient whose wife is pregnant. They worked to find a way to prolong his life long enough for him to meet his newborn child. During a risky surgery, the hospital’s power went out due to the storm, and the backup generators failed, putting Jeremy’s life in further danger.

In a lighter moment, Dr. John Frost’s love life became more complicated. After paramedic Lizzy Novak playfully wrote “911” on his arm instead of giving her phone number, Dr. Naomi Howard confessed that she has had feelings for him for a long time.

Dr. Daniel Charles also struggled, showing signs of exhaustion and clashing with researcher Dr. Theo Rabari over a patient’s diagnosis. Charles later apologized, admitting that something is affecting his judgment.

Dr. Archer also found a potential new romantic interest in oncologist Dr. Jennifer Kingston. During surgery, the two bonded over both being single, though Archer did not mention that he is expecting a child with Dr. Hannah Asher.
