South Korean actress and singer Nana and her mother sustained significant injuries after fighting off an armed robber who broke into their home. The incident occurred early on November 15 at their residence in Guri, a city near Seoul. While initial reports suggested they were unharmed, Nana’s agency, SUBLIME, later amended its statement to confirm both required medical treatment following the violent confrontation.

The Armed Break-In and Confrontation

A man in his 30s broke into Nana’s home in Acheon-dong, Guri City, around 6 a.m. He was armed with a weapon and threatened Nana and her mother, demanding money. The situation escalated into a physical altercation.

Despite the danger, Nana and her mother managed to subdue the armed intruder. Police from the Guri Police Station arrived at the scene and arrested the man. He now faces charges of attempted robbery.

Agency Corrects Initial Report on Injuries

Following the incident, SUBLIME agency first put out a statement indicating that Nana and her mother had not been seriously harmed. However, the agency later issued a corrected and more detailed account, revealing the true extent of their injuries.

In their updated statement, the agency described the severity of the attack, noting the robber created an “extremely dangerous situation.” They confirmed that both women were hurt during the struggle.

The agency stated: “As a result of the robberโ€™s physical assault, Nanaโ€™s mother lost consciousness due to serious injury, and Nana also sustained physical injury while trying to escape danger. At present, both are in need of medical treatment and complete rest.”

Ongoing Recovery and Investigation

Nana and her mother are currently receiving medical care. Reports indicate her mother has regained consciousness, and both are focused on their recovery.

The police investigation into the attempted robbery is ongoing. SUBLIME has pledged full cooperation with the authorities. Due to the active investigation, specific details about the case have not been publicly disclosed.

The agency also made a request to the public and media outlets, emphasizing the need to protect the victims from further harm.

SUBLIME asked the public to “refrain from groundless speculation, the spreading of falsehoods, or invasion of privacy regarding the incident in question, as this could lead to serious secondary damage.”

A Broader Look at Celebrity Security

This alarming event has sparked renewed conversations about the safety and security of public figures in South Korea. The break-in at Nana’s home is the latest in a series of recent security breaches involving celebrities.

Just days before this incident, two individuals attempted to break into the home of BTS member Jungkook. Earlier this year, comedian Park Na Rae was also a victim of a major theft at her residence. These repeated incidents have raised concerns about the measures in place to protect celebrities from targeted crimes.

Nana’s Career and Public Support

Nana, whose real name is Im Jin-ah, first gained fame in 2009 as a member of the girl group After School and its sub-unit, Orange Caramel. She has since successfully transitioned into an acting career.
