The latest episode of Phantom Lawyer aired on April 11, 2026, and fans saw a major shift in the relationship between Shin Yi-rang (Yoo Yeon-seok) and Han Na-hyun (Esom). The two lawyers officially teamed up and took on their first joint case together. This episode was packed with emotional moments, a tricky ghost client who has Alzheimer’s, and a shocking courtroom twist that changed everything.
The drama follows a lawyer who can see ghosts. He uses his special ability to help spirits settle their unfinished business through legal ways. This time, the case hit close to home for everyone involved.
A New Client Brings a Ghost With Memory Loss
The episode kicked off with Ms. Chae Jeong-hee (Gil Hae-yeon) waiting at Yi-rang and Na-hyun’s new shared office. Yi-rang first thought she was a ghost because she looked so familiar. But she was a living client who needed urgent legal help. She wanted Yi-rang to fight for her late husband’s final wish.
Ms. Chae explained that her husband Kang Dong-sik (Lee Deok-hwa) ran a successful shoe business. Before he died, he wrote a will giving one-third of the inheritance to the son of their old business partner, Seon-hwa. Their own son, Kang Ji-hoon, did not agree with this decision. He hired the big law firm Taebaek to fight against the will.
The problem got bigger when the ghost of Kang Dong-sik appeared in Yi-rang’s office. He had severe dementia before he passed away. So he could not remember his own wife or his present life. He only knew he was a young shoemaker from 1979. This made it very hard for Yi-rang to get useful information from him.
Na-hyun Steps Up to Protect Yi-rang
Na-hyun showed a completely different side in this episode. Earlier, she did not believe in ghosts at all. But now she saw how much Yi-rang struggles when a ghost takes over his body. She decided to become his main support system.
Every time Dong-sik possessed Yi-rang, the lawyer lost control of himself. He wandered around the city without knowing where he was going. Na-hyun ran after him multiple times to keep him safe. She even gave him a locket with her phone number inside. She told him to call her first if he ever got into trouble while possessed.
Their bond grew stronger throughout the episode. Na-hyun no longer doubted Yi-rang’s ability. Instead, she worked hard to understand his condition and help him win cases. Viewers could clearly see romantic feelings starting to build between the two lawyers.
The Truth About the Past Comes Out in Court
The court hearing became the most intense part of the episode. Do-kyung (Kim Kyung-nam) from Taebaek law firm brought out shocking evidence. He proved that the will was not written in 2019 as claimed. The ink used on the document only entered the market after 2020. By that time, Dong-sik was already too sick to even recognize his own wife.
But the bigger shock came next. Do-kyung accused Ms. Chae of being the one who actually wrote the will. He also revealed that she was the person who reported Seon-hwa to the police as a North Korean spy. This was a complete lie made up out of jealousy. Ms. Chae liked Dong-sik and thought he loved Seon-hwa instead. Her false report led to Seon-hwa getting arrested and dying in prison.
“Who exactly wrote this will?” – Do-kyung questions in court, exposing the forgery.
A flashback scene showed the painful truth. Ms. Chae had lived with guilt for many years. She tried to make things right by finding Seon-hwa’s son and giving him a share of the inheritance. But her past mistake could not be erased so easily.
Veteran Actors Shine in Emotional Roles
Lee Deok-hwa made a special appearance as the ghost of Kang Dong-sik. Even though his character had memory loss, his performance touched many hearts. Dong-sik spent hours making shoes for his wife without remembering who she was. His love stayed alive even when his memories faded away.
Younger actor Kang Joon-kyu played the role of young Kang Dong-sik in the 1979 flashback scenes. He showed the character as a hardworking craftsman who valued loyalty and friendship. His acting added more depth to the sad story of love, jealousy, and regret.
The episode showed that Dong-sik truly loved his wife all along. Ms. Chae never needed to feel jealous or take such terrible actions. Her guilt followed her for the rest of her life.

The Case Remains Unsolved
The episode ended without a clear winner in the court case. After Do-kyung dropped the bombshell revelations, Dong-sik’s ghost got very angry. He possessed Yi-rang again and started shouting in the courtroom. He insisted that he wrote the will himself, not his wife.
Na-hyun and Bong-su had to hold Yi-rang down and splash water on his face to bring him back to normal. The trial stopped suddenly, leaving everyone hanging. Viewers will have to wait for the next episodes to see how this emotional case finally ends.
