What Happened in Perfect Crown Episode 2

Episode 2 starts with a flashback to an archery event where Hui-ju faces bullying from other rich people. Prince I-an steps in to stop it, showing they have a past connection.

In the present time, Hui-ju goes straight to the prince and asks him to marry her. She lists all her good qualities, but I-an says no. He tells her he still believes in real love and does not want a marriage based on business.

But Hui-ju does not give up. She finds out his full schedule and keeps showing up wherever he goes. She even ruins a blind date that her father set up for her. Her only goal is to marry the prince so she can gain the social status she never had as a child born outside of marriage.

Meanwhile, palace problems come to light. Yi-rang (played by Gong Seung-yeon), the queen dowager, remembers destroying the king’s abdication paper before a fire killed him. This memory continues to trouble I-an and explains why he has trouble sleeping.

The young King Yi Yun is only eight years old and cannot handle his duties alone. I-an has to step in during a public event where Hui-ju is being honored.

Things get more complicated when I-an gets sick and stays alone in a hotel. Hui-ju secretly helps him by bringing her own doctor. She pretends to be the patient so the doctor does not ask questions. But news about their time together leaks out.

The next day, newspapers report that the prince and Hui-ju are dating. Some rumors even say she might be expecting a child. Yi-rang gets angry but also sees this as a chance to hurt the prince’s reputation. The prime minister, Jeong-woo, uses the news to distract people from economic problems.

At the end of the episode, I-an meets Hui-ju privately at his home. He says sorry for the scandal. But Hui-ju stays calm and tells him clearly she wants to marry him for power and recognition, not love. Though offended, I-an agrees to the marriage. He warns her they will face anger from the whole country.

What to Expect in Perfect Crown Episode 3

Episode 3 will show I-an and Hui-ju dealing with the public after announcing their wedding plans. News channels and regular people will all talk about their relationship. The couple has to act like they are truly in love to make everyone believe their bond is real.

On the other side, Yi-rang is furious about their marriage news. She will try to ruin their plans.

There will also be an investigation into a fire at the Junhgwajeon (a palace building). The prince will rush to protect Hui-ju when the investigation gets too close to her.

I-an gets very close to Hui-ju and quietly tells her that their acting must look real. He says their relationship will not be believable unless he plays the part of being completely taken with her when other people are watching.

The episode will also show more of the power struggle within the palace. The queen dowager wants to keep control, and the prime minister has his own plans. Hui-ju and I-an are now right in the middle of all this political fighting.
