Netflix has given a new comedy series called A Hundred Percent the official green light. The show brings together a celebrated group of comedy stars and creators for a project that takes on the modern self-improvement industry. The series will star Nick Kroll, Sam Richardson, Jason Mantzoukas, and Vanessa Bayer. It comes from co-creators Nick Kroll and writer-showrunner Gabe Liedman, marking their return to collaboration after working on Netflix’s animated hit Big Mouth. The show is currently in early development, with no confirmed release date yet, but is expected to arrive on the streaming platform in late 2026 or early 2027.
The Comedic Plot of A Hundred Percent
A Hundred Percent is a half-hour live-action comedy that puts a group of friends under the microscope. The official description from Netflix states the show is about “a group of friends working inside the Thought Leader industrial complex“. These characters build public brands around preaching a perfect life. They create best-selling books, popular podcasts, and promote ideal morning routines designed to help their audience live better.
However, the core joke of the series is the gap between their public persona and private reality. While they sell perfection, “away from the screens and mics, they are most definitely far from perfect”. The show will explore the comedy that comes from their messy friendships, workplace problems, and personal struggles as their curated advice crashes into their actual lives. It aims to find humor in the contrast between the flawless image they project and the flawed people they really are.
The Star-Studded Cast and Creative Team
The series has assembled a main cast that is well-known for their work in some of the most popular comedies of recent years. Nick Kroll, the show’s co-creator, is famous for creating and starring in Big Mouth and The League, and for his role in History of the World, Part II. He is joined by Sam Richardson, recognized for his roles in Veep, Ted Lasso, and The Afterparty. Jason Mantzoukas, known for Brooklyn Nine-Nine, The Good Place, and Percy Jackson and the Olympians, also stars. Rounding out the central four is Vanessa Bayer, a Saturday Night Live alum with roles in I Love That for You and What We Do in the Shadows.
Behind the camera, Gabe Liedman serves as the showrunner, co-writer, and co-creator alongside Kroll. Liedman’s previous writing and producing credits include Brooklyn Nine-Nine, PEN15 (where he was the first season showrunner), and Big Mouth. The executive producing team also includes Max Joseph, co-creator of MTV’s Catfish, and Alex Plapinger. Interestingly, the initial idea for the show came from Max Joseph, who brought the concept to Nick Kroll.
Speaking about the project, Nick Kroll shared his excitement: “I am thrilled to make this show with Gabe and this insane cast. I canโt wait to explore this high-functioning group of friends who endeavor to live their weird lives!”
Gabe Liedman expressed his joy about the Netflix greenlight with characteristic humor: “Picture me doing the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleadersโ ‘Thunderstruck’ flawlessly right now because thatโs how I feel”. He added, “This team, Netflix and this cast?! I feel especially lucky to be working with Nick again, and I promise to do my best to bring you all something nuts to watch very soon”.

What We Know About the A Hundred Percent Release Date
As of early January 2026, A Hundred Percent is in the very early stages of production. The series was just officially announced and greenlit by Netflix, which means the writing process is likely beginning now. Because of this early status, Netflix has not set a specific premiere date.
Based on typical production timelines for a half-hour comedy series, reports suggest that A Hundred Percent is expected to be released on Netflix sometime at the end of 2026 or at the beginning of 2027.
