Where the Story Begins and Key Cast
A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is based on author George R. R. Martin’s series of novellas, Tales of Dunk and Egg. The story is set about a century before the events of Game of Thrones and roughly 72 years after House of the Dragon. This places the show in a unique period of Targaryen rule where the dragons are gone, but the dynasty still holds the Iron Throne.
