Han So Hee‘s mother has been sentenced to a one-year suspended prison term for operating multiple illegal gambling dens. This follows her arrest in September on charges of running over 12 such establishments.
On December 26, Chuncheon District Court’s Judge Kim Do Hyung sentenced Han So Hee’s mother, identified as A (55), to one year in prison, suspended for two years. She was also ordered to complete 120 hours of community service.
Investigations revealed that A operated these gambling dens between 2021 and August 2024, across cities like Ulsan and Wonju. She employed individuals to act as proxies in managing these establishments.
A was directly involved in the operation of seven gambling dens from January 2022 to late August 2023.
Han So Hee’s agency, 9ATO Entertainment, released a statement clarifying that the actress was not involved in her mother’s actions. The agency expressed disappointment regarding the situation.
This is not the first time A has faced legal troubles. In 2022, she was involved in multiple fraud and forgery cases.
Han So Hee, who has a strained relationship with her mother, has previously been impacted by her mother’s actions. In 2019, A borrowed 40 million KRW from an acquaintance, listing Han So Hee as the co-guarantor. When A failed to repay the loan, Han So Hee faced a lawsuit from the lender.
Despite her attempts to help her mother, A continued to misuse Han So Hee’s name in various financial matters.
