South Korean actress Kwak Sun Young has offered exciting insights into the production schedule for Crash Season 2 while expressing admiration for Indian cinema. Known for her versatility and nearly decade-long career in the K-drama industry, Kwak shared these updates during an interview at the Red Sea International Film Festival in Saudi Arabia.

Updates on Crash Season 2

Kwak Sun Young revealed that Crash Season 2 is aiming for a release either by the end of 2025 or early 2026. Currently, the scriptwriting process is underway, and the actress emphasized the dedication of the team involved.

“I can assure you that the team, including the cast and the directors, are ready to give full efforts,” she said during the interview.

While keeping details under wraps, her comments sparked excitement among fans eagerly awaiting the next season of the popular drama.

Role in Somebody

The actress also discussed her recently released film Somebody, a mystery thriller where she portrays Lee Yeong Eun, a swimming coach raising her seven-year-old daughter, So Hyun, played by Gi So Yoo. The story unfolds as her daughter begins exhibiting violent behavior, creating challenges for Yeong Eun’s already difficult life.

Reflecting on her role, Kwak mentioned drawing on personal experiences as a mother to shape her performance:

“There are some elements that are common with the character Yeong Eun,” she noted, adding that, unlike her real-life challenges, her character is far more layered and complex.

Somebody premiered on October 4, 2024, in South Korea and has since received praise for its intense narrative and compelling performances.

Interest in Indian Content

In addition to discussing her ongoing projects, Kwak Sun Young expressed her interest in working on Indian films or series in the future. She highlighted RRR, featuring Ram Charan and Jr. NTR, as a recent favorite, referring to it as an exceptional film that impressed her greatly. Her admiration for Indian cinema has raised hopes for a potential collaboration in the coming years.
