Episode 2 of Ang Mutya ng Section E Book 2: The Dark Side deepened the complicated feelings between Jay-Jay, Keifer, and Yuri. The story moved from self-defense lessons to open confessions and possessive warnings, leaving the characters and viewers tangled in a growing emotional conflict.
Jay-Jay Learns Self-Defense from Section E
The episode began with the boys of Section E teaching Jay-Jay Mariano how to fight. After a recent attack, her classmates wanted her to be able to protect herself. The training session took a notable turn when Keifer stepped in to guide Jay-Jay personally, pulling her close to demonstrate moves. Their closeness did not go unnoticed, especially by Yuri, who watched from the side.
Jay-Jay surprised everyone, including Keifer, by successfully using a move against him. This small victory earned cheers from the group and seemed to bring her and Keifer closer. Later, during a classroom argument with another student named Mayo, Jay-Jay used strong language. Keifer suddenly kissed her, reminding her of his rule about using bad words. This public kiss was a key moment that sparked major tension.
Yuri Confesses His Jealous Feelings to Jay-Jay
Yuri was deeply affected by seeing Keifer kiss Jay-Jay. He later followed her out of the classroom after a tense moment and apologized for his distant behavior. He was direct about the reason for his mood.
He explains to Jay-jay that he’s jealous of Keifer getting close to her, despite knowing that she’s engaged.
Yuri openly admitted he had developed strong feelings for Jay-Jay and was struggling to control his emotions. In a gentle moment, he kissed her on the cheek before walking away. This confession added a new layer of honesty to their forced engagement, showing Yuri’s genuine care for her.
Keifer’s Possessive Side Emerges with a Warning
Keifer saw Yuri’s affectionate goodbye. His reaction was immediate and intense. He pulled Jay-Jay aside and gave her a clear, possessive warning about Yuri.
“I told you, you’re mine. Let Yuri do that to you one more time, you’ll pay for it.”
This moment shocked Jay-Jay. Thinking about Keifer’s behavior, she later asked their friend Ci-N about his temper. Ci-N revealed that Keifer has a history of losing control. He described a past fight where Keifer repeatedly punched Yuri. Ci-N advised Jay-Jay to be careful and even suggested she should never date Yuri, calling him a coward for planning the engagement without her full knowledge.
A Secret Video and a Visit to Kiko
While at Ci-N’s house, Jay-Jay found a hidden video on his laptop. The footage showed Keifer and Yuri beating up a student named Kiko. The reason for the attack was linked to Kiko crossing a line involving Jay-Jay. Upset by this discovery, Jay-Jay demanded to know which hospital Kiko was in and went to visit him the next day.
At the hospital, Kiko apologized to Jay-Jay for his past actions, which she accepted. He also shared information about a girl named Freya. Kiko explained that Freya had changed after her boyfriend’s death and later became involved with Keifer, Yuri, and another boy named Aries. This new information left Jay-Jay curious about the past connections within the group.
New Conflicts and Confusing Advice
Back at school, Jay-Jay faced more confusion. Her friend Josh asked her to keep a secret: he had seen two other classmates, Kit and Mayo, kiss. Josh feared Keifer’s harsh reaction if he found out.
Later, Jay-Jay found Kit alone. He opened up about his difficult relationship with Mayo and the pressure from his family. As they talked, Kit jokingly leaned in as if to kiss Jay-Jay. Mayo saw this and completely misunderstood the situation. He angrily accused Jay-Jay of being like “the second Ella,” a comparison that deeply hurt her. Frustrated, Jay-Jay punched Mayo to make him stop.
Mayo later apologized. He and other friends then gave Jay-Jay conflicting advice about Keifer and Yuri:
- Mayo told her Yuri was easier to trust, while Keifer could become “selfish around girls”.
- Ci-N warned her never to let Yuri court her.
The episode ended with Yuri and Keifer walking in as Jay-Jay sat with her friends, their words echoing in her mind as she looked at the two boys.
