Netflix’s French crime drama Bandi has quickly become a talking point for viewers who love gritty family stories mixed with high-stakes action. The show dropped on April 8, 2026, and people are already finishing all eight episodes. Set on the Caribbean island of Martinique, the series follows the Lafleur family—11 siblings who lose their mother and then turn to crime to survive. The ending leaves many questions, especially about Kylian Lafleur (also known as Milord) and what really happens to his brother Kingsley.

The finale does not give a clean or happy ending. Instead, it stays true to the show’s raw and realistic tone. No big surprises or perfect resolutions exist here. Just hard choices, broken trust, and the heavy cost of trying to keep a family together when money runs out.

What Is Bandi About and Who Is Milord

Bandi tells the story of the Lafleur siblings, who range from 7 to 23 years old. Their mother, Marilyn, dies suddenly in a car accident. Without her, the family falls apart. The younger kids end up with a cruel aunt, while the older ones fight to bring them back home.

The show takes place in Martinique, a French island in the Caribbean. The setting is important because it shows how limited options push people into illegal work. The older siblings start with small thefts but quickly move into drug trafficking.

Kylian Lafleur, played by Djody Grimeau, hides a big secret from his family. At only 16 years old, he runs a drug business under the name Milord. His own brothers and sisters do not know about his double life. They think he is just a regular teenager going to school. But on the streets, people fear the name Milord.

Kingsley Lafleur, played by Rodney Dijon, is Kylian’s older brother. People call him King. Unlike Kylian, King acts without thinking. He steals from dangerous people and makes careless plans. His actions bring trouble to the whole family.

How Kylian Becomes Milord and Takes Control

Kylian does not become Milord overnight. He builds his drug business slowly and carefully. His only connections are a few trusted people like Fatso, his helper, and Jean-Claude (JC) , a dock worker who helps move drugs. Kylian stays in school and keeps his criminal life separate from his family life.

His father, Fabrice Sifflet, sits in prison. Fabrice knows about Kylian’s business and demands money from him. He also sends his brother Jocelyn to harm the Lafleur family. Kylian has to deal with his father’s threats while also protecting his siblings.

By the final episodes, Kylian fully steps into his Milord identity. He makes tough calls that no 16-year-old should ever have to make. He orders violence against enemies and even cuts off people who were once close to him. His rise to power comes at a great personal cost.

“We wanted to see if it was possible to do a French Top Boy, a series about drug trafficking with a young cast, and decided to set it in Martinique.” – Éric Rochant, co-creator of Bandi

The Shocking Fate of Kingsley in the Finale

The most talked-about moment in the Bandi ending involves Kingsley. After killing a gang leader named SherKhan, King becomes a target for every criminal on the island. Even people in Kylian’s own group want King dead. They see him as reckless and dangerous.

Kylian refuses to kill his own brother. Instead, he makes a plan to send King to Trinidad, where he will be safe. He gets help from Marvin, the oldest brother, and another sibling named Dark who was thrown out of the family years ago. They take control of the drug shipment and threaten anyone who goes after King.

Right when it seems King will escape, everything changes. A young boy, with an older man watching, finds King and shoots him multiple times. King falls off a bike, tumbles down a slope, and lies on the ground badly hurt.

But King does not die. The final shot shows his fingers twitching. He is alive, but barely. He also lost the key he needed to leave the island. His future remains completely uncertain.

Did Kylian Order the Hit on His Own Brother

This is the biggest question from the finale. Kylian arrives at the scene in a car with his family. He sees what happened to King. Instead of helping, he throws away a family ring that represents loyalty and unity. Then he drives off.

Later, Kylian visits his mother’s grave and breaks down crying. He apologizes over and over. Viewers are left to decide whether he feels guilty because he ordered the attack or because he could not save his brother.

The show does not give a clear answer. Some evidence suggests Kylian might have arranged the hit. His business partners all wanted King dead. Kylian refused at first, but the pressure kept building. He also had to protect his other siblings, especially the younger ones.

At the same time, Kylian spent the whole season trying to keep King alive. He risked his business and his safety to send King away. The ending leaves this question open for viewers to debate.

What Happens to Other Characters in the Bandi Ending

Margot does not betray King, even when SherKhan’s gang hurts her. She holds onto the drugs and gives them back to King. Her loyalty surprises everyone.

Fabrice, Kylian’s father, tries to make a deal with a police officer. He offers information about King killing SherKhan in exchange for getting out of prison early. The officer turns out to be corrupt and works for Alex Croquet, a rich businessman. Croquet uses this information to pressure Kylian for money.

Leo, one of the younger siblings, gets kidnapped. Kylian receives a video that looks like Leo gets shot in the head. But it turns out to be a blank. Leo survives, but the threat remains real.

Alex Croquet demands that Kylian pay back the full amount for the stolen drugs plus 15% of all future earnings. Kylian walks away without agreeing. He warns Croquet that going after his family will bring consequences.

Jean-Claude (JC) loses Kylian’s trust. Kylian sends an assassin after him and replaces him with Saint-rose.

Will There Be a Bandi Season 2

As of now, Netflix has not confirmed a second season of Bandi. But the ending leaves many open threads. King’s survival is not certain. Fabrice gets out of prison. Alex Croquet still wants his money. And Kylian carries the weight of everything he has done.

Fans on social media are already asking for more. One viewer on X (formerly Twitter) said: “I smoked it all in one go”. Another wrote: “Series finished 8.5/10 just because we want the sequel” .

The show’s creator, Éric Rochant, has not announced any plans for season 2. But with the positive response and the cliffhanger ending, many believe Netflix will bring the show back.
