A new character is causing a stir in Fairmont Crest. David Lami Friebe has joined the cast of Beyond the Gates in the recurring role of Izaiah Hawthorne, the brother of Detective Jacob Hawthorne and the son of Police Chief Elon Hawthorne. The character made his first on-screen appearance in the episode that aired on Friday, October 24, 2025, immediately creating a buzz with his sudden arrival and the new layer it adds to the established Hawthorne family.

A Sudden Appearance at Uptown

The introduction of Izaiah happened in a moment of high tension. He was first seen quietly observing his brother, Jacob, and sister-in-law, Naomi, from across the room at Uptown. The scene quickly escalated when a tipsy Naomi stumbled and Izaiah rushed to catch her, preventing a fall.

Jacob initially saw a stranger accosting his wife from behind and rushed to her side. His protective anger, however, instantly turned to recognition and surprise. Jacob’s eyes lit up, and he greeted Izaiah warmly as his “little brother.” This chance encounter confirmed the family connection to viewers and marked the official entrance of a new player in the community’s complex social web.

Deepening the Hawthorne Family Story

Izaiah’s arrival comes at a fragile time for Jacob and Naomi Hawthorne. The couple has been struggling with a significant “tipping point” in their marriage, largely centered on their conflicting desires about having children. While Naomi was overjoyed by a recent pregnancy scare, Jacob was crushed when the test turned out to be negative, highlighting a deep disagreement about their future.

The pressure has been mounting, with Naomi recently expressing that she misses their old lives and their friends. This new family variable, in the form of Izaiah, is poised to either complicate or help heal the growing rift between them. The show has yet to reveal the history behind Izaiah’s relationship with his family or the reasons for his arrival in Fairmont Crest.

Other Scheming Plots in Fairmont Crest

While the Hawthornes navigate family drama, other residents are busy with more dangerous games. Hayley Hamilton is actively moving forward with a sinister plan to murder her husband, Bill. Her goal is to collect on his $10 million life insurance policy and a college fund. In recent episodes, she was seen poisoning his tea, determined to make his death look like a natural medical incident.

“I’m gonna need Meg Markle’s bee guy to come smoke this bitch out,” Hayley groused after being nearly caught snooping on Bill’s computer by his assistant, Caroline.

Meanwhile, Vanessa McBride continues her concerning descent, fully embracing a partnership with morally ambiguous casino owner Joey Armstrong. In a shocking move, she manipulated her grieving son, Donnell, into returning to college, effectively removing him from her way. She then boldly proposed to Joey that she become his partner in “every way,” even suggesting they use her home for their meetings.

A Mother of a Problem for Madison

In another part of Fairmont Crest, Dr. Madison Montgomery is dealing with family strife of her own. She has cut off contact with her mother, Willow, after constant conflicts. The issue isn’t Madison’s sexuality but her mother’s embrace of radical alternative medicine and fringe social media groups.

Willow has repeatedly tagged Madison in online posts, falsely claiming her “doctor daughter” supports these extreme ideas, which has led to a patient refusing treatment from Madison. During their last fight, Madison called Willow “a danger to common sense,” while her mother retorted that Madison was “a brainwashed corporate puppet.” Despite this, Madison’s girlfriend, Chelsea, is now secretly formulating a plan to reunite them.
