BLACKPINK’s 2025 world tour will begin in Goyang, South Korea, on July 5 and 6, followed by stops in North America, Europe, and Japan. The group’s first concert in nearly two years has generated excitement, but ticket prices have sparked significant backlash among fans.
YG Entertainment revealed the pricing structure for the Goyang concerts, with VIP BLINK seats priced at 275,000 KRW (approximately $187), BLACK seats at 242,000 KRW ($165), and PINK and R seats at 209,000 KRW ($142). Lower-tier seats (S, A, B) range from 176,000 KRW ($120) to 132,000 KRW ($89) .
Fans Express Frustration Over Rising Costs
Many fans took to online forums, including The Qoo, to criticize the pricing. Some called the costs “insane,” arguing that the steep prices make concerts inaccessible for younger fans and students. One fan wrote, “It looks like they’re slowly raising the price tag. I have no intention of going, but I bet it will go up again” .
Others compared BLACKPINK’s ticket prices to those of Western artists like Coldplay and Oasis, noting that the group’s concerts start later in the evening, which may inconvenience attendees traveling from distant areas .
Concerns Over Industry-Wide Price Increases
Fans worry that BLACKPINK’s high ticket prices could set a precedent for other K-pop acts, making live concerts increasingly unaffordable. Some pointed out that while the group’s production value justifies premium pricing, the costs may alienate long-time supporters .
YG Entertainment has not yet responded to the criticism or indicated whether pricing will be adjusted for other tour stops .
Tour Details and Solo Projects
The 2025 world tour includes stops in Los Angeles, Chicago, Toronto, New York, Paris, Barcelona, and London, where BLACKPINK will become the first K-pop girl group to headline Wembley Stadium .
The tour follows a hiatus during which members pursued solo careers. Jennie released her album Ruby, Lisa debuted in The White Lotus Season 3, Rosé collaborated with Bruno Mars, and Jisoo starred in Newtopia .
Despite the backlash, demand for tickets remains high, with many shows expected to sell out quickly .
