BLACKPINK’s 2025 world tour announcement has sparked intense backlash from fans, with criticism focusing on high ticket prices, lack of new music, and poor timing. The group’s agency, YG Entertainment, is under fire for prioritizing profits over fan satisfaction.
Fans expressed frustration after the tour teaser dropped without details of a new album. Many called the move a cash grab, especially with ticket prices for the Goyang concert ranging from $89 to $187. The VIP BLINK seat costs 275,000 KRW ($187), while general seats start at 132,000 KRW ($89).
“World tour teaser before comeback teaser are u kidding me??? yg doesn’t even try to hide that they just care about the money.”
“Just when Jisoo announced her Asia Tour, YG suddenly announces a world tour to distract fans. So nasty.”
The backlash grew as fans noticed the tour overlaps with members’ solo projects. Jisoo is promoting her solo album Amortage and Asia tour, while Lisa, Jennie, and Rosé are also busy with solo music and acting. Some fans suspect YG is rushing the tour to recover financial losses after reports of a 2024 deficit.
“YG finances are SO bad they had to announce a tour before a group comeback. This level of greed is insane.”
Ticket prices became another major issue. Many fans called the costs “insane”, arguing they exclude younger and student fans. Some compared the prices to previous tours, noting fewer benefits despite higher costs.
“No soundcheck or extra goods like before, yet tickets cost more? YG doesn’t deserve BLACKPINK or BLINKs.”
The tour will visit only 10 cities, including Seoul, Los Angeles, Paris, and London. Fans in other regions criticized the limited stops, calling it a “fake world tour.”
“That ain’t a world tour… where’s the rest of it?”
Despite the backlash, demand remains high. The Goyang presale sold out instantly, with over 50,000 fans in the online queue. Industry experts predict the tour could break revenue records.
