BLACKPINK’s Jisoo recently surprised fans with a candid revelation about her spending habits. In a fun interview on YouTube’s Saloon Drip, Jisoo shared that her biggest expense over the past year wasn’t luxury goods or designer apparel, but rather in-app purchases for mobile games.
From Bed to Sofa, and Then to Games
Jisoo described her downtime activities as mostly consisting of relaxing at home. She explained that she doesn’t have many hobbies and spends her rest time moving between her bed and sofa. “I don’t have any [hobbies]. When I rest, I just lie in bed. If the bed gets too warm, I start wondering if I’ve been lying down for too long, so I move to the sofa and lie there instead,” Jisoo shared.
The Unexpected Gamer
The conversation took an interesting turn when Jisoo began discussing her gaming habits. She mentioned that she installed a game after seeing an advertisement, and it quickly became a passion. What started as a casual pastime soon led to regular in-game purchases. “Recently, I saw an ad for a game and decided to install it, and it was so fun that I ended up spending money on in-game purchases. I spend a lot on them. In fact, the thing I spent the most money on in the past year might be in-game purchases,” Jisoo admitted.
Investing in Virtual Outfits
Jisoo, who describes herself as generally frugal, explained her perspective on spending money within the game. “I don’t shop much, and I’m not the type to spend a lot of money, but I think of it as an investment when it comes to gaming. Just like buying clothes, I spend money on outfits for my game characters,” she said. This highlights how even global superstars have their own unique ways of enjoying their success.
