Bloody Flower Cast And Character Details
The central conflict of Bloody Flower is driven by three main characters played by a mix of rising and established stars.
Ryeoun takes on the complex role of Lee Woo-gyeom, a serial killer with a medical background. His character is reported to be responsible for the deaths of 17 people, yet he possesses what is described as “genius medical skills” and the ability to cure diseases considered incurable. This role marks a significant shift for Ryeoun, who recently gained widespread recognition for his performance in the action series Weak Hero Class 2.
Opposing him is prosecutor Cha Yi-yeon, played by Keum Sae-rok. Her character comes from a privileged background and is determined to prove her worth by securing a death sentence for Lee Woo-gyeom. She represents the pursuit of justice for the victims.
Caught in the middle is lawyer Park Han-jun, portrayed by veteran actor Sung Dong-il. His character faces a terrible moral choice: he must defend the serial killer Lee Woo-gyeom in court because the killer might be the only person who can save his seriously ill daughter. This puts Park Han-jun in direct conflict with Prosecutor Cha’s mission.
Bloody Flower Plot And Story Premise
The plot of Bloody Flower is based on the novel The Flower of Death by author Lee Dong-geon. The story creates a tense triangle of desperation, duty, and manipulation.
The core premise questions what happens when the person who can save lives is also the one who has taken them. Lee Woo-gyeom is not a typical killer; his medical knowledge makes him uniquely valuable. This creates a severe dilemma for the characters and forces the audience to consider difficult questions about morality and value.
The series explores the moral conflict surrounding a killer who claims to hold a universal medical cure.
The lawyer, Park Han-jun, must secure the killer’s freedom to access the cure for his daughter, directly opposing the prosecutor, Cha Yi-yeon, whose job is to ensure the killer is punished. This setup promises a psychological and legal battle where personal need clashes with public justice.
