Mnet’s survival show Boys II Planet has revealed its first interim rankings for both Planet K (Korean) and Planet C (Chinese) contestants after the premiere episodes aired on July 17 and 18, 2025. The show, a sequel to Boys Planet, features 160 trainees competing for a spot in a final global boy group.
Originally planned as two separate shows with two debut groups, the format was changed to merge both teams into one competition. The first voting round ends on July 24, 2025, and the current rankings show who is leading the race.
Top Contestants in Planet K and Planet C
The rankings are based on global fan votes. In Planet K, Lee Sang Won (former Trainee A member) leads at 1st place, followed by Yoo Kang Min and Chung Sang Hyeon. In Planet C, Zhou An Xin is in 1st place, with Cai Jin Xin and Fan Zhe Yi close behind.

Immediate Eliminations Shock Viewers
The show introduced a “No Star” elimination rule, where trainees who fail to meet the judges’ standards are cut immediately. In the first episode, Park Nu Ri (Great M Entertainment) was eliminated after struggling with vocals.
“Aren’t you supposed to be in the vocal position? Right?” – Lim Han Byul (Vocal Master) questioned Park Nu Ri, who replied, “I’m in the visual position.”
The judges were unimpressed, and despite Park Nu Ri’s emotional plea for another chance, he was sent home. Other eliminated trainees include Baek Jae Hyeon, Kim Won Bin, and Thanatorn from Planet K, and Li Zheng En, Lin Xin Rui, and Qi Lin from Planet C.
New Format and Voting Rules
Unlike previous seasons, Boys II Planet now merges Planet K and Planet C into one final group instead of two separate ones. The final group will have eight members, and their contracts will last five years instead of the usual 2.5 years.
Fans can vote via Mnet Plus, TVING, and YouTube. The next episodes will feature team missions and solo performances, with eliminations based on audience votes and judge evaluations.
Controversy Surrounding a Contestant
Before the premiere, trainee Kim Gun Woo faced bullying allegations from his past trainee days. Critics questioned if he received favoritism after being chosen as the signal song center. Mnet stated they are investigating the claims, but Kim appeared in the premiere without edits, even receiving an “All-Star” rating.
