Netflix has released the first official poster for Bridgerton Season 4, giving fans a long-awaited look at Yerin Ha as Sophie Baek. The image, shared on the show’s official social media, features the new character in a stunning silver gown at a masquerade ball, a key moment from the upcoming season. The poster confirms the series will debut in 2026.

The First Look and The Story It Tells

The newly released poster centers on Yerin Ha’s Sophie Baek, who is described as a maid serving the formidable Lady Araminta Gun. In the image, she is turned away from the viewer, dressed in an elegant silver-white gown with intricate lace and beading, holding a masquerade mask behind her back. The visual directly hints at the “Lady in Silver” from the books, a mysterious woman who captures Benedict Bridgerton’s heart at a ball.

The show’s announcement playfully adopted the tone of Lady Whistledown, stating, โ€œOne thing is certain, gentle readers, a masquerade is like no other event. Prepare yourselves, for anything can happen.”

This season shifts the focus to Benedict Bridgerton, the family’s artistic and free-spirited second son, played by Luke Thompson. Unlike his married brothers, Benedict has shown little interest in settling down, but that changes when he meets a captivating woman at his mother Violet’s masquerade ball. He only knows her as the “Lady in Silver,” unaware that she is actually Sophie, a maid navigating the challenges of her position in society.

The Central Romance and Its Challenges

Season 4 will adapt Julia Quinn’s third novel, An Offer From a Gentleman, which is widely seen as a Cinderella-inspired story. The core of the plot follows Benedict’s search for the mysterious woman he met at the ball, who disappears at midnight. He later encounters a housemaid named Sophie and finds himself drawn to her, not realizing she is the same person.

Showrunner Jess Brownell has described the new season as being about “forbidden love,” highlighting the significant obstacle of class difference. She explained that after three seasons of establishing the high-society “upstairs” world, the show is now expanding to explore the “downstairs” world of servants, making the romance between a gentleman and a maid particularly dramatic.

โ€œThis year itโ€™s all about forbidden love,โ€ Brownell said. โ€œThe class clash gives us a very serious obstacle, and the stakes could not be higher this year. Itโ€™s really a juicy one.โ€

Actor Luke Thompson also shared his excitement about the new scripts, calling them “dynamite.” He confirmed the Cinderella connection, noting, โ€œThe storyline is a bit of a twist on ‘Cinderella.’โ€ฆ Itโ€™s such a great story, but itโ€™s also, I hope, really relatable.โ€

New Faces and Returning Favorites

The cast for the new season includes several new actors in key roles. Katie Leung joins as Lady Araminta Gun, Sophie’s stepmother, with Isabella Wei and Michelle Mao playing her stepsisters, Posy Li and Rosamund Li.

The story also brings back many familiar characters. Confirmed returning cast members include:

  • Jonathan Bailey as Anthony Bridgerton
  • Simone Ashley as Kate Bridgerton
  • Nicola Coughlan as Penelope Featherington
  • Luke Newton as Colin Bridgerton
  • Claudia Jessie as Eloise Bridgerton
  • Adjoa Andoh as Lady Danbury
  • Golda Rosheuvel as Queen Charlotte
  • Ruth Gemmell as Violet Bridgerton
  • Julie Andrews as the voice of Lady Whistledown

According to the production credits, Julie Andrews is still listed as a series regular, indicating she will continue her narration despite Penelope’s reveal as Lady Whistledown at the end of Season 3.

The Road to Season 4

Filming for the eight-episode season began earlier and was reported to have wrapped up in June 2025. Netflix had previously shared a first sneak peek of the masquerade ball in a behind-the-scenes video in February 2025, which offered glimpses of the ballroom setting and masked characters.

While Netflix has only confirmed a 2026 release window, the release of this first poster is a clear sign that more promotional material will be coming. The poster builds anticipation for a season that promises to blend the opulent romance and drama the series is known with a new, forbidden love story.
