Bridgerton Season 4 has officially finished filming, and fans are excited for the next chapter. The new season will focus on Benedict Bridgerton (Luke Thompson) and his love story with Sophie Baek (Yerin Ha). Netflix shared a fun video of the cast celebrating the end of filming by changing out of their costumes.
The show is based on Julia Quinn’s book An Offer from a Gentleman. Benedict meets Sophie at a masquerade ball, not knowing she is a maid with secrets. The story has a Cinderella-like twist, full of romance and drama. Fans can expect the season to release in 2026.
Luke Thompson and Yerin Ha are the new lead couple this season. Thompson has been part of the show since Season 1, while Ha is joining for the first time. The actors say they connected well while filming. Ha shared that Sophie’s struggles with social status and hidden feelings drew her to the role.
“The scripts that Jess [Brownell] and her team have come up with are dynamite. They’re really, really, really exciting,” Thompson said. “The storyline is a bit of a twist on ‘Cinderella.’ You remember being told those stories as a child — the magic and the romance of them.”
Many familiar faces will return, including Nicola Coughlan (Penelope), Jonathan Bailey (Anthony), and Simone Ashley (Kate). New characters like Rosamund Li (Michelle Mao) and Posy Li (Isabella Wei) will also appear. These sisters add more drama to the story as they enter high society.
Filming started in September 2024 and ended in June 2025. The show’s team worked hard to bring the grand ball scenes and countryside settings to life. Fans got a first look at a teaser showing Benedict meeting Sophie at the masquerade. The chemistry between the two leads has already created buzz.
“I remember Luke stood there with arms wide open, just ready for an embrace,” Ha said about meeting Thompson. “That was the moment I was like, ‘Ah, OK, I don’t need to stress about these little things now. I can just genuinely focus on the on-screen connection with him.’”
The release date is still not confirmed, but past seasons suggest Bridgerton Season 4 may arrive in mid-to-late 2026. Season 3 was split into two parts, but it’s unclear if Netflix will do the same this time. Fans are hoping for a quicker release, but the show takes time due to filming, editing, and dubbing in multiple languages.
Shonda Rhimes, the creator, has plans for eight seasons—one for each Bridgerton sibling. With four siblings left, the show could continue for many more years. Rhimes confirmed that every Bridgerton will get their own love story.
Some fans were surprised that Bridgerton Season 4 was not featured much at Netflix’s Tudum 2025 event. However, a short teaser was shown earlier at Netflix’s Upfronts. The clip confirmed Benedict’s romantic journey as the main focus.
The wait for Season 4 will be long, but fans have plenty to look forward to. The mix of fairy-tale romance and real-world struggles promises an exciting season. With new characters, returning favorites, and stunning costumes, Bridgerton continues to be a must-watch.
