BTS member J-Hope shocked fans with his bold new look in concept photos for his upcoming single “Killin’ It Girl.” The teaser images, released on May 29 and 30, show the singer showing off his toned physique in black-and-white and colorful shots. Fans worldwide are buzzing about his dramatic transformation.
The song, featuring American rapper GloRilla, will drop on June 13. It marks J-Hope’s third solo single this year after “Sweet Dreams” and “MONA LISA.” The track is part of his “Charm of HOPE” project, wrapping up his solo releases before BTS’ expected group comeback.
J-Hope’s new look includes a leather jacket, edgy poses, and—most talked about—his six-pack abs. Fans quickly noticed how different he looks compared to his earlier days. Many recalled a funny moment from 2016 when he joked about fake abs, promising to get real ones someday. Now, at 31, he’s delivered on that promise.
“WHO LET THIS GUY ENTER THE HYBE’S GYM?????? 😤😤😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😔,” one fan tweeted.
“Old ARMY how are we feeling???? From getting the abs shirt to this??? HOW ARE WE FEELING?!?!?!??!,” another posted.
“Just got in from hours in the garden to this… I almost dropped my phone. Hobi!😳,” a user mentioned.
“Killin’ it girl”_J hope We are supposed to be Killin it Not being kil’d before being able to do it Sir Jung HOSEOK spare our weak hearts, I’m in distress, a netizen said.
“But for real, this photo is sooooo good? The pose, the light… Black and white photography can be hard because you only have grey tones to compose the picture, so I love it even more when it’s beautifully done like here,” a person shared.
“This is genuinely so sickening . The styling , modelling and photography style all tens👏🏾,” a viewer noted.
“Champion indeed. Clearly killing it, girl or otherwise. That leather jacket deserves its own comeback,” another fan added.
The concept photos blend grunge and hip-hop styles, similar to his “Jack In The Box” era but with a sharper, sexier edge. The black-and-white shots highlight his sharp features, while the colored images bring out his vibrant energy.
“Killin’ It Girl” is described as a hip-hop track about love at first sight. BigHit Music shared that the lyrics capture the thrill of meeting someone confident and charming. The song features GloRilla, known for her powerful rap style. Her 2023 album “Glorious” hit No. 5 on the Billboard 200, making this collab highly anticipated.
J-Hope will perform the song live for the first time at his “HOPE ON THE STAGE” tour finale in Goyang, South Korea, on June 13-14. The tour, which started earlier this year, will wrap up just as other BTS members finish their military service.
Fans are also speculating if the group will reunite at BTS FESTA, an annual celebration in June. Jin and J-Hope already completed their service, while RM, V, Jimin, Jungkook, and SUGA are set to return soon.
The singer recently appeared on Apple Music’s “The Zane Lowe Show,” explaining his solo project’s emotional journey. He said “Killin’ It Girl” is his personal favorite, closing his series of singles on a high note.
Pre-orders for his “Charm of HOPE” album opened on May 29, with the full release set for July 11. The project includes his three 2025 singles, showcasing his growth as a solo artist.
Fans can’t stop talking about his new look. Many call him the “Man of His Words” for keeping his promise about getting real abs. Others praise his confidence and artistic direction.
“Just got in from hours in the garden to this… I almost dropped my phone. Hobi!😳,” a fan wrote.
“Killin’ it girl? More like Killin’ it J-Hope! GAH-LEE GEEZ,” another joked.
