BTS member J-Hope had an unexpected encounter with local police after his recent concert in Taipei during his HOPE ON THE STAGE world tour. The incident, which was broadcast live on Weverse, quickly went viral as fans shared his genuine reaction.

The rapper was in a car after performing at the NTSU Arena on May 24 when the vehicle was stopped at a routine police checkpoint. J-Hope, visibly confused, looked around as the driver explained the situation to the officer. The officer initially misunderstood the driver’s words, thinking he said “customer” instead of “celebrity.”

“He’s a celebrity.”
“A customer?”
“No, a celebrity.”

Once the officer realized who was in the car, he let them pass. J-Hope, still processing what happened, asked the driver for clarification. When told it was just a standard DUI check, he relaxed and even found it interesting.

“Oh, checking for DUIs? They do that here, too? That’s cool.”

Fans loved his honest reaction, flooding social media with memes and comments about how relatable and funny the moment was. Many praised his respectful attitude, even when caught off guard.

The HOPE ON THE STAGE tour has been a major success, with J-Hope performing in 15 cities across North America and Asia. The tour includes hits from his solo albums Jack in the Box and Hope on the Street Vol. 1. After Taipei, he will perform in Osaka, Japan, on May 31 and June 1.

Two encore concerts have also been added in Goyang, South Korea, on June 13 and 14. These shows will be livestreamed for fans who can’t attend in person. BigHit Music confirmed that these will be the final stops of the tour.

“We are preparing thoroughly to ensure that J-Hope’s signature energy and captivating performances are delivered with full impact.”

The Osaka concerts will also be shown in select cinemas worldwide, including the Philippines, for fans who missed the live events. Tickets for the encore shows in Goyang are already on sale, with presale options for BTS fan club members.

J-Hope’s tour has been praised for its high-energy performances and creative staging. Fans have shared glowing reviews online, calling it a must-see experience.

“Hobi is such a great performer! The concert was bursting with energy from start to finish.”

With the tour nearing its end, fans are cherishing every moment, both on and off stage. The unexpected police stop in Taipei is just one of many memorable highlights from this global journey.
