BTS may have recorded a never-before-heard Michael Jackson song for an upcoming tribute album. The track was written by Jackson in 2006 but was never released. The news has sparked excitement among fans of both artists.
BTS Joins Michael Jackson Tribute Album
On August 3, 2025, entertainment insiders reported that BTS has recorded an unreleased Michael Jackson song. The track was originally written by Jackson during his stay in Ireland in 2006. The project was left unfinished when Jackson left the country.
Paddy Dunning, a key figure at Grouse Lodge Studios in Ireland, confirmed the news. He said:
“The sessions started last year, and we have already had the Korean boy band BTS over with us in Grouse Lodge, recording one of the songs.”
The tribute album will include around 10 tracks and a documentary about Jackson’s time in Ireland. Fans are calling this a “legendary collaboration” between two music icons.
Michael Jackson’s Unfinished 2006 Ireland Project
In 2006, Michael Jackson stayed in a converted cow shed in Ireland with his family. He wrote several songs during this time, with top collaborators flying in to work on the album. However, the project was never completed.
Jackson tragically passed away in 2009, leaving behind unreleased music. The upcoming tribute album aims to bring some of these songs to life. BTS is the first major act confirmed to be part of the project.
BTS’s Connection to Michael Jackson
This is not the first time BTS has shown admiration for Michael Jackson. Member Jungkook paid tribute to Jackson in his solo song “Standing Next to You” with similar dance moves and outfits.
In 2018, BTS was invited to participate in another Michael Jackson tribute but declined due to scheduling conflicts. This new collaboration is seen as a full-circle moment for the group.
Fan Reactions to the News
Fans of both BTS and Michael Jackson have expressed excitement online. Many see this as a historic moment in music.
“YOOO MY TWO FAVOURITES I CANT BELIEVE THIS”
“Michael would have loved BTS. Our kings.”
“This is Huge. I’m so proud of our boys y’all”
The tribute album is expected to release later this year. More details, including other featured artists, will be announced soon.
