BTS member Suga, also known as Agust D, has made history with his mixtape D-2. The album now holds the record for the most number-one rankings on Apple Music by any K-pop solo artist. Fans worldwide are celebrating this milestone.

Suga’s second mixtape, D-2, reached the top spot on Apple Music charts in over 48 countries. This breaks the previous record for a K-pop soloist. His other album, D-DAY, also performed strongly with 43 number-one rankings.

The achievement highlights Suga’s influence as a solo artist. D-2 was released in 2020 with no prior promotion or physical albums. Despite this, it became a global hit. The title track Daechwita played a big role in its success.

Fans, known as ARMY, have flooded social media with praise. Many called the record “well-deserved” for Suga’s hard work. Others noted how his music sets a high standard for K-pop soloists.

D-2 is part of Suga’s three-part mixtape series under his alias Agust D. The first mixtape, Agust D, came out in 2016. D-DAY, the final part, was released in 2023. All three albums have been critically and commercially successful.

“King Agust D on top as he should,” said a fan on X.
“D-2 being a complete surprise release with no physicals and from pre-Dynamite era… D-2 REALLY PAVED THE WAY FOR K-SOLOISTS,” added another.

Suga is currently completing his mandatory military service. Due to a past shoulder injury, he is serving in an alternative role. His discharge is expected on June 21, 2025. He will be the last BTS member to finish service before the group reunites.

Apart from his solo work, Suga is a key member of BTS. The group has broken multiple records, including most number-one hits on iTunes. Suga’s solo success adds to BTS’ global impact in the music industry.

D-2 features 10 tracks blending hip-hop and traditional Korean sounds. Songs like Moonlight and Burn It showcase Suga’s versatility. The album peaked at number 11 on the Billboard 200, setting a record for Korean soloists.

The mixtape also made history on other charts. It reached number seven in the UK and number two in Australia. Daechwita debuted at number 76 on the Billboard Hot 100, another first for a Korean solo artist.

Suga’s music often explores personal and social themes. His lyrics discuss mental health, success, and self-reflection. This depth has earned him respect as both a rapper and producer.

Apple Music is a major platform for global music streaming. Topping its charts in multiple countries shows strong fan support. Suga’s albums have outperformed other popular K-pop soloists on the platform.

Here are the top K-pop solo albums with the most number-one spots on Apple Music:

In 2023, D-DAY became the first male act to reach number one on iTunes in 100 regions. Suga joined Adele as the only artists with multiple albums achieving this feat. His lead single Haegum also topped iTunes charts globally.
