BTS member Suga has officially completed his military service, becoming the last of the seven-member group to finish his mandatory duty. The rapper marked his discharge by posting a heartfelt message on Weverse, addressing fans for the first time since his DUI incident in August 2024.

In his post, Suga thanked fans for waiting and apologized for causing disappointment. He admitted taking time to reflect on his actions during his service. The idol also expressed regret for letting down his bandmates and promised to work harder in the future.

“Hello everyone, it’s been a while. This is Suga. It’s been two years. How has everyone been? Today, I was officially discharged from the military, so I’m greeting you for the first time in a while. It’s a day I’ve been waiting for.”

Suga served as a public service worker instead of joining the military due to a past shoulder injury. His discharge means all BTS members have now completed their service, paving the way for their full-group comeback in 2026.

Suga’s Apology and Reflection

The rapper’s Weverse post was his first direct communication with fans since his DUI scandal last year. At the time, he shared a handwritten letter taking responsibility for his actions. This time, he reiterated his remorse and acknowledged the impact on fans and his bandmates.

“I’m truly sorry for the disappointment and concern caused by what happened last year. I was especially hurt by the fact that I had hurt the fans’ feelings. I also feel sorry to the members, who must have felt burdened in their own ways because of me.”

Suga added that his military service gave him time to reflect on his career and personal growth. He vowed to return with a better mindset and more frequent updates for fans.

BTS Members’ Military Service Timeline

The group’s military enlistment was staggered to minimize their absence from the music scene. Jin, the oldest member, enlisted first in December 2022 and was discharged in June 2024. J-Hope followed in April 2023 and completed his service in October 2024.

The remaining members—RM, V, Jimin, and Jungkook—enlisted together in December 2023 and were discharged in June 2025. Suga, who began his alternative service in September 2023, was the last to finish on June 21, 2025.

What’s Next for BTS?

With all members now free from military obligations, focus shifts to their highly anticipated group comeback. Reports suggest their official return is set for March 2026, with preparations already underway.

HYBE, BTS’s agency, has confirmed that the group will need time to finalize new music and performances. A world tour is also in the works, as mentioned by J-Hope in recent interviews.

“We’re planning to gather and discuss the album. We’re trying to prepare as quickly as possible. Since BTS is all about performances, we’re also planning a full group world tour.”

Fans have eagerly awaited BTS’s return, especially after seeing the members reunite at J-Hope’s concert and their 12th-anniversary FESTA event. The group’s chemistry remains strong, and their upcoming projects are expected to break records once again.

Fan Reactions to Suga’s Return

ARMY, BTS’s dedicated fanbase, flooded social media with supportive messages for Suga. Many expressed relief at his return and praised his honesty in addressing past mistakes.

“Everyone makes mistakes, but what matters is how you grow from them. We’re so proud of you, Yoongi!”

“The fact that he acknowledged his mistake and apologized shows his sincerity. We’ll always support him.”

With Suga’s discharge, BTS is now fully back together. The group’s next chapter promises new music, performances, and a chance to reconnect with fans worldwide.
