The movies up for casting awards this year are the same ones you have been hearing about all awards season. The Casting Society has announced the nominees for its 41st Annual Artios Awards, with top contenders including Sinners, Marty Supreme, and Hamnet leading the pack. The awards will be given out on February 26, 2026, in three separate ceremonies hosted by actors Harvey Guillén, Jeff Hiller, and Jessica Gunning. This year is particularly important for the casting industry as it comes just weeks before the Academy Awards presents its first-ever Oscar for Best Casting.

Harvey Guillén from What We Do in the Shadows will host the Los Angeles ceremony at the Beverly Hilton. Jeff Hiller of Somebody Somewhere will host in New York at the Edison Ballroom. Jessica Gunning, known for Baby Reindeer, will host the London event at One Moorgate Place. Casting Society President Destiny Lilly said the hosts’ “humor, artistry, and energetic spirit set the stage for memorable evenings”.
The society also announced several special awards. Ayo Davis, President of Disney Branded Television, will receive the Lynn Stalmaster Award for Career Achievement. The organization Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS will be given the Marion Dougherty New York Apple Award. Other honorees include casting director Julie Ashton (Hoyt Bowers Award) and former CSA administrator Laura Adler (Rosalie Joseph Humanitarian Award).

A Clue for the New Oscars Category
The 2026 Artios Awards take on extra significance because they are the last major industry awards before the Academy presents its inaugural Best Casting Oscar at the 98th Academy Awards in March. Many of the films nominated for an Artios, including Sinners, Hamnet, Marty Supreme, and Frankenstein, are also on the Oscars’ shortlist for the new category. However, one major Oscar contender is missing from the Artios list: One Battle After Another. Its casting director is not a member of the Casting Society, making the film ineligible for this particular award.
“This year is especially meaningful as we look forward to the first Academy Award for Achievement in Casting, a historic milestone that emphasizes the lasting influence of casting professionals,” said Casting Society President Destiny Lilly.
