The highly awaited K-drama The Wonder Fools, starring Cha Eun Woo and Park Eun Bin, has officially begun filming. The drama, centered around flawed superheroes, is set to present a fresh take on the genre, combining fantasy, emotional depth, and action.
On October 23, Kim Jong Do, the president of Park Eun Bin’s agency Namoo Actors, confirmed via Instagram that the cast had kicked off production. He shared a photo of a tree captioned:
In The Wonder Fools, Cha Eun Woo takes on the role of Lee Un Jeong, a civil servant with a socially awkward personality and a complex past. He struggles with his unwanted superpowers, which often make his life more complicated than heroic. Park Eun Bin portrays Eun Chae Ni, a wealthy young woman battling a severe heart condition. Her condition makes her fragile yet strong-willed, creating an intriguing dynamic when her path crosses with Lee Un Jeong’s.
The series, directed by Yoo In Shik—who previously worked with Park Eun Bin on the popular drama Extraordinary Attorney Woo—is expected to dive deep into the characters’ personal struggles, offering a unique angle on superhero stories. The script is written by Heo Da Joong, the writer behind the hit movie Extreme Job.
Both Cha Eun Woo and Park Eun Bin have previously showcased their range across genres, building anticipation for their on-screen chemistry. Cha Eun Woo, a member of ASTRO, is known for roles in True Beauty, My ID is Gangnam Beauty, and A Good Day to Be a Dog. Meanwhile, Park Eun Bin is acclaimed for her performances in Extraordinary Attorney Woo and The King’s Affection.
The Wonder Fools is a joint production between Kakao Entertainment, Fantagio, and Romantic Crew, with a release date yet to be confirmed.
