Chelsea Blackwell, a flight attendant and event planner who appeared on the sixth season of the hit Netflix dating show Love Is Blind, has stirred up controversy for saying she looks like actress Megan Fox. The reality star made the claim during a conversation with her love interest Jimmy Presnell in the pods, where singles are supposed to form connections based on emotions, not looks.
Blackwell told Presnell that passengers on her flights tell her “all the time” that she looks like “one person” because she has dark hair and blue eyes. She then revealed that the person was Fox, who is engaged to rapper Machine Gun Kelly. Presnell, a software salesman, seemed thrilled by the comparison and asked her to marry him.

However, when the two later met face-to-face for the first time during their big engagement reveal, viewers couldn’t get over Presnell’s reaction. Many on social media argued that he seemed disappointed by the fact that Blackwell looked “nothing” like Fox. Presnell admitted in a confessional that Blackwell “definitely lied” to him about how she looked, but said he was still attracted to her.
Fans of the show also took to Twitter to roast Blackwell for her audacious statement. Some called her “delusional” and “narcissistic”, while others posted memes and jokes mocking her. One user wrote, “Chelsea really said she looks like Megan Fox. Girl, bye.” Another tweeted, “Chelsea needs to get her eyes checked. She looks nothing like Megan Fox. She looks more like a fox terrier.”
Even some of Blackwell’s co-stars chimed in on the drama. Trevor Sova, who dated Blackwell in the pods before she chose Presnell, said he was glad he dodged a bullet. Jessica Vestal, who was Presnell’s other pod prospect, said she felt sorry for him and that Blackwell was “playing games”. Both Sova and Vestal ended up finding love with other contestants on the show.

Blackwell, who is now engaged to Presnell, responded to the fan backlash in an Instagram post. She said she was joking when she said she looked like Fox and that she didn’t see the resemblance. She also said she was nervous about being in a bathing suit in front of Presnell for the first time and that she wanted him to like her for who she was.
She added that she and Presnell were happy together and that they had a strong bond based on their personalities, not their appearances. She thanked the fans who supported them and asked the haters to stop judging them. She wrote, “Love is blind, and so are some of you. Jimmy and I are in love and we don’t care what anyone else thinks. We are not here to please anyone but ourselves.”
Love Is Blind is a dating show where singles date and propose to each other without seeing each other’s faces. The show then follows them as they meet in person, go on a honeymoon, move in together, and prepare for their wedding.
