Where to Watch Daemons of the Shadow Realm Episode 3
Crunchyroll is the main streaming platform for Daemons of the Shadow Realm. The service carries the show in North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, the Indian Subcontinent, and Southeast Asia. The episode will be available with English subtitles. An English dub version is also coming, with Ben Stegmair voicing Yuru and Molly Zhang voicing Asa.
The show is produced by Bones Film, the studio behind hit series like Sword of the Stranger. Masahiro Andō is directing the anime, with Noboru Takagi handling the scripts.
What Happened in Episode 2: The Truth About Asa
Episode 2 started right where the first episode ended. Yuru had just awakened his Divine Guardians, Right and Left, two powerful lion-like creatures. He used them to fight back against Gabby, the girl who attacked his village. Yuru shot Gabby in the shoulder and then the leg, showing that even though he only knew hunting animals, he could still fight effectively.
Then came the big twist. The girl with the eyepatch who appeared during the attack told Yuru she is his real sister, Asa. Right confirmed this by saying her blood smelled exactly like Yuru’s. The truth was even worse. Ten years ago, Yuru’s parents took Asa and left the village, leaving Yuru behind. The village leaders created a fake Asa, likely a daemon controlled by Granny Yamaha, to trick Yuru into staying. They knew Yuru would never leave his sister behind.
The fake Asa seemed to have real feelings for Yuru, making the whole situation even more painful. After this discovery, Yuru decided to leave the mountain with Dera, the traveling merchant, and a woman named Hana. Right and Left rode on top of the car because they had never seen a vehicle before and did not trust getting inside.
Near the end of the episode, a mysterious white woman riding a horse appeared and spoke to Right and Left. Dera called her Oshirasama, a true god. When she learned Yuru was one of the twins who split day and night, she said, “That won’t be easy,” and rode away.

What to Expect in Daemons of the Shadow Realm Episode 3
The preview for Daemons of the Shadow Realm Episode 3 shows Yuru entering the modern world in Guntama Prefecture. He looks up at the night sky in what seems like a quiet moment of understanding after everything that happened. There is also a shot of him walking through a field with Right and Left, which already looks funny because of how unusual the two beasts appear in a normal setting.
But not everything is peaceful. The preview also shows a ghost-like figure with a pale white face, possibly another type of daemon. This suggests the world of daemons is much bigger than what has been shown so far. Hana can also be heard yelling, “Why do I have to marry you?!” The word “senpai” in the Japanese version points to Dera as the person she is talking to.
Jin Kagemori also appears in the preview, putting a finger to his lips to shush someone. Strange creatures with bright yellow eyes stand behind him. These creatures do not look friendly, meaning Jin may still be a major threat even though he seemed calm and controlled in Episode 2.
The series has a rating of 8.05/10 as of April 11, 2026, showing strong early reception from anime fans.
The Main Questions Episode 3 Needs to Answer
Several big questions remain after Episode 2. What is Granny Yamaha really planning? Who are Yuru and Asa’s real parents, and what happened to them? Why were the twins separated as children? What does it mean to “sunder night and day”? And when Oshirasama said things will not be easy, what exactly is she talking about?
The story has moved from a small mountain village into a larger world with modern technology, gods, and many different types of daemons. Episode 3 will likely keep expanding this world while giving Yuru time to process everything he learned about his fake sister and his real family.
Daemons of the Shadow Realm is streaming now on Crunchyroll, with new episodes releasing every Saturday.
