The popular fantasy anime Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? is officially coming back. Danmachi Season 6 production has been confirmed, announced during a special event celebrating the series’ 10th anniversary. The exciting news, shared with fans on February 7, 2026, was accompanied by the release of a brand-new teaser video. This announcement confirms that the adventures of Bell Cranel and the Hestia Familia will continue, moving the beloved franchise into its next major story arc.

The Official Season 6 Announcement and Teaser

The confirmation for Danmachi Season 6 came as a highlight of the “Aedes Vesta – Sacred Flame’s Path” 10th-anniversary event in Japan. Many main voice actors attended the event, celebrating a decade since the anime first began.

Alongside the announcement, the production team released a teaser trailer for the upcoming season. This first look gives fans a hint of the intense challenges Bell will face next. While detailed story information is still under wraps, the teaser sets a serious tone for the next chapter.

Producer Nobuhiro Osawa once shared the team’s dedication, saying, “Our staff haven’t gotten tired of thisโ€ฆ they’ve loved the content, but also because they love Omori-san, the original creator”.

Expected Story and Source Material for Season 6

Danmachi Season 6 will continue adapting the original light novel series written by Fujino ลŒmori. The new season is expected to cover events from Volume 21 of the novels, which marked the beginning of the story’s final arc.

The Season 5 finale set the stage for a major crisis. Following a failed expedition, Bell receives devastating news that the powerful Loki Familia has been wiped out. His friend and inspiration, the swordswoman Aiz Wallenstein, is among those reportedly trapped deep within the dungeon. This catastrophic event will push Bell and his allies to their limits as they face an unprecedented threat.

The Returning Cast and Creative Team

Fans can expect the familiar voices of Orario to return. The main Japanese voice cast is confirmed to reprise their roles for the sixth season. This includes Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as the passionate hero Bell Cranel and Inori Minase as the devoted goddess Hestia. Other key cast members like Saori Onishi (Ais Wallenstein) and Maaya Uchida (Liliruca Arde) are also set to return.

The core creative staff from recent seasons is anticipated to continue their work. This includes director Hideki Tachibana, character designer Shigeki Kimoto, and series composer Hideki Shirane. The animation will continue to be produced by the studio J.C.Staff, which has handled the series since its first season in 2015.

A Look Back at Season 5 and the Path Forward

The road to Season 6 follows a successful but challenging fifth season. Danmachi Season 5 aired for 15 episodes from October 2024 to March 2025. The season experienced a production delay partway through its run, leading to a brief hiatus before the final episodes aired in early 2025.

Season 5 adapted the “Goddess Festival” arc, focusing on Bell’s complicated relationships and the machinations of various gods and factions within the city of Orario. Its conclusion, with the fall of the Loki Familia, creates an urgent and high-stakes starting point for the next season.

When and Where to Watch Danmachi Season 6

A specific release date for Danmachi Season 6 has not been announced yet. The production has only just been confirmed, and the teaser video released is a first-look announcement. Given the typical production timeline for anime and the recent conclusion of Season 5, a release in 2027 is a likely expectation.

Once it airs in Japan, the new season is expected to stream internationally on platforms like HIDIVE, which has been the exclusive streaming home for recent seasons in territories including the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and Australia. All previous seasons, OVAs, and the anime film are currently available to stream on HIDIVE for fans looking to catch up or rewatch the story.

The franchise continues to be a major success, with the original light novels and their spin-offs reaching a circulation of over 20 million copies worldwide. This enduring popularity is a key reason Bell Cranel’s dungeon-crawling journey is set to continue.
