Tony Dalton is officially returning as the charismatic Jack Duquesne, also known as the Swordsman, for the second season of Daredevil: Born Again. The actor confirmed his involvement and revealed that filming intense action sequences for the new season left him with a real injury. The new season is scheduled to arrive on Disney+ on March 4, 2026.
The Swordsman’s Sharp Return
During an interview, Tony Dalton confirmed he has filmed scenes for the upcoming season. He shared details about the physically demanding nature of his role, indicating that his character will be in the middle of significant action.
“I did a bunch of action stuff in this next one that is coming out of Daredevil. And man, I got hurt, I got hurt hard,” Dalton said. “I think I must have chipped a rib or something, because two or three weeks I was in bed. I had bruises all over my back. It was hard. Those guys go hard.”
This confirmation points to a substantial role for the Swordsman in the new season, moving beyond a simple cameo.
Who is Jack Duquesne?
Tony Dalton first appeared as Jack Duquesne in the 2021 Disney+ series Hawkeye. On the surface, he was a wealthy socialite and the fiancรฉ of Eleanor Bishop. It was later revealed that he leads a double life as the Swordsman, a skilled vigilante who uses his sword-fighting abilities for justice.
In the first season of Daredevil: Born Again, Jack Duquesne resurfaced in New York City’s high-society circles. His vigilante activities eventually drew the attention of Mayor Wilson Fisk. Fisk, who has outlawed vigilantes, had Duquesne arrested and imprisoned in a secret underground jail by the end of the season.
Season 2’s Heroic Team-Up
The storyline for Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 will focus on Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock assembling a team of allies to fight back against Mayor Wilson Fisk and his powerful Anti-Vigilante Task Force. With Jack Duquesne locked up at the end of Season 1, his return strongly suggests he will break free and potentially join Daredevil’s resistance.
This aligns with the show’s broader narrative of street-level heroes uniting against a common enemy. The new season will also feature the return of Krysten Ritter as Jessica Jones, another major hero from the Netflix Marvel shows, who is expected to ally with Matt Murdock.
A Star-Studded Cast Returns
The cast for Season 2 is packed with familiar faces. Alongside Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio, the series sees the return of Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle aka The Punisher, and Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson. The return of these core characters ensures the show continues the emotional stories fans love.
The second season is the first to be developed entirely after the show’s creative overhaul, which aimed to more closely continue the story and tone of the original Netflix Daredevil series.
Executive producer Brad Winderbaum said Fisk acts like a king when he takes over as mayor, and that “puts him in a new class of power players on the international stage”.
With the Swordsman back in action and Daredevil building his team, the battle for the soul of New York City is set to be bigger and more intense than ever.
