Disney has confirmed the official release window for Daredevil: Born Again Season 2, scheduling the next chapter of Matt Murdock’s story for a March 2026 premiere on Disney+. After some public back-and-forth about the exact date, the show is officially locked in for an early 2026 debut. The upcoming season will feature a major crossover event from the Marvel Netflix era and continue the intense street-level war for New York City.

Official Release Date and Streaming Details

Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 will premiere on March 4, 2026. The new season will consist of eight episodes, which is one episode fewer than the show’s first season. While Disney has not confirmed the exact weekly release schedule, the pattern is expected to follow Season 1, where new episodes were released weekly.

For global audiences, the show will be available on Disney+ in all supported regions. This typically includes the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, and India, where the first season streamed on Disney+ Hotstar. New episodes are expected to drop at 9:00 PM Eastern Time (ET) on release days, matching the previous season’s pattern.

A Major Crossover and the Fight for New York

The second season picks up directly after the events of Season 1. Wilson Fisk, played by Vincent D’Onofrio, is now the Mayor of New York and has enacted a strict anti-vigilante policy called the Safer Streets Initiative. Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock must form a resistance to fight back against Fisk’s control over the city.

The most significant new development is the confirmed return of a fan-favorite character. Krysten Ritter is back as Jessica Jones, marking her first appearance as the detective in the official Marvel Cinematic Universe. Her arrival turns the season into what Marvel describes as its largest crossover of Netflix heroes to date on Disney+.

At a New York Comic Con panel, Charlie Cox explained the escalating conflict: “By the time we get to season 2, that deal is off the table. All bets are off. The world has changed a lot for Matt and Super Heroes in general. It’s a much more sinister world for people who are trying to do the right thing“.

Krysten Ritter shared her excitement about returning to the role after several years, noting the immediate chemistry with her co-star: “It was surreal but also as if no time had passedโ€ฆ I love Charlie so much as a person. I love being with him and acting with him“.

Returning Cast and New Characters

A large ensemble from Season 1 is returning for the new chapter. This includes Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page and Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson. Other returning cast members are Wilson Bethel as Bullseye, Margarita Levieva as Heather Glenn, and Ayelet Zurer as Vanessa Fisk.

They will be joined by new faces. Matthew Lillard joins the cast as a powerful figure named Mr. Charles, who becomes a political antagonist for Mayor Fisk. Lili Taylor will play New York Governor Marge McCaffrey.

A Clear Future for the Series

The show’s creative team has a long-term plan. Marvel’s Head of Television, Brad Winderbaum, has stated that the studio views Daredevil: Born Again as an ongoing series with a traditional network-style production cycle. He indicated the goal is to make it an “annual release every March for as long as people enjoy the show“.

This plan is already in motion. A third season has been confirmed and is in development, with a likely target release date of March 2027. Production on Season 3 is expected to begin early in 2026.
