Nakoa-Wolf Momoa, the 16-year-old son of actor Jason Momoa, is set to make his acting debut in Dune 3. He will play Leto II, the son of Paul Atreides (Timothée Chalamet) and Chani (Zendaya). Alongside him, newcomer Ida Brooke will portray Ghanima, Leto II’s twin sister.
The casting confirms that Dune 3 will adapt Frank Herbert’s novel Dune Messiah, set 12 years after the events of Dune: Part Two. The twins play a crucial role in the story, inheriting their father’s powers and ancestral memories.
Jason Momoa is expected to return as Duncan Idaho, a resurrected clone of his original character. This marks the first time Nakoa-Wolf and his father will appear together in a film.
Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya are confirmed to reprise their roles. Robert Pattinson is also in talks to join the cast as the villain Scytale.

Director Denis Villeneuve is helming the final installment of his Dune trilogy. The film is expected to begin production soon for a December 16, 2026 release.
Fans of the books know Leto II and Ghanima become central figures in the Dune saga. Their inclusion hints that Dune 3 may blend elements from Dune Messiah and Children of Dune.
The first two Dune films were major successes, earning over $1.12 billion worldwide and winning multiple Oscars. The third film is highly anticipated, with expectations set even higher after Dune: Part Two received critical acclaim.
Ida Brooke has previously appeared in Apple’s Silo and The Primrose Railway Children. Nakoa-Wolf, despite being new to acting, has drawn attention due to his resemblance to his famous father and mother, Lisa Bonet.
Online reactions have been mixed, with some fans excited about the casting while others question whether newcomers can do justice to such important roles.
“WOW….spoilers!!!”
“Oh wow there’s gonna be a HUGE timeskip then!”
“Good casting though cause I can kinda see Timmy and Zendaya in the kids.”
“I hope they retcon everything about queen of my heart, st alia of the knife.”
The Dune franchise also includes the Max series Dune: Prophecy, set 10,000 years before the films. It has been renewed for a second season.
