The long wait for Emily in Paris is nearly over. The fifth season of the hit Netflix show arrives on Wednesday, December 18, 2025. This new chapter expands Emily’s world across two countries, weaving stories between Paris and Rome with a glamorous stop in Venice. Creator Darren Star calls it a “tale of two cities,” promising that Emily will take “love and life to the next level”. With new faces joining beloved characters and some familiar ones departing, here is your complete guide to the Season 5 cast.
The Core Team Returns to Paris and Rome
At the heart of the show, Lily Collins is back as the optimistic American marketing executive, Emily Cooper. Now leading the new Agence Grateau office in Rome, Emily will face major professional challenges and romantic choices. Her stylish and sharp boss, Sylvie Grateau, is again played by Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu.
Emilyโs best friend, the aspiring singer Mindy Chen, returns with Ashley Park in the role. Her on-again, off-again love interest, British banker Alfie, is back as a series regular, with Lucien Laviscount reprising the part.
The showโs signature workplace humor will be delivered once more by Emilyโs colleagues. Samuel Arnold returns as the trendy Julien, and Bruno Gouery is back as the quirky Luc. Other confirmed returns include William Abadie as client Antoine Lambert, Paul Forman as Mindyโs love interest Nico, and Arnaud Binard as Sylvieโs husband, Laurent G.
The Love Triangle: Gabriel and Marcello’s Fate
The romantic tension that has defined the series continues into Season 5, but with new complications. Lucas Bravo returns as Gabriel, the chef and Emily’s neighbor whose realization at the end of Season 4 sets him on a path to potentially win her back.
โUnfortunately, Gabriel has to deal with the repercussions of his choice,โ Lily Collins said about the new season.
However, Emilyโs new Italian romance is also heating up. Eugenio Franceschini returns as Marcello, the charming fashion heir Emily met last season. Lily Collins has teased that their connection will grow, stating, โI feel like they have a real spark and a real connectionโฆ A lot of thatโs going to continue to play out next seasonโ.
New Additions to the Emily-Verse
Season 5 introduces several new characters who are set to shake up the story. Award-winning actress Minnie Driver joins the cast as Princess Jane, a friend of Sylvieโs who married into royalty.
The cast also gains two other new recurring faces. Bryan Greenberg (Suits LA) will play Jake, an American living in Paris who brings an outsiderโs perspective to the story. French actress Michรจle Laroque will portray Yvette, an old friend of Sylvie whose history could create new challenges.
Another character from Season 4, Genevieve, will also be back. Thalia Besson reprises her role as Laurent G.’s daughter, whose interest in Gabriel added drama last season.
Who Is Not Returning for Season 5?
Not every character from the Parisian world will return for the new season. Camille Razat, who played Camille for four seasons, will not be back. The actress confirmed her departure in April 2025, stating her character’s storyline had reached a natural end. Creator Darren Star echoed this, telling Deadline, โI think her story kind of had a natural finishโ.
Guest star Rupert Everett, who played fashion designer Giorgio Barbieri in Season 4, has also stated he will not return. He mentioned in an interview that he was told the show would โspeak next year,โ but the call never came. A source close to the production indicated his guest storyline had concluded.

The description hints that a work idea will backfire, causing “heartbreak and career setbacks,” and a big secret will threaten one of her closest relationships.
The season will see Emily balancing her life between the two iconic cities. Creator Darren Star has confirmed that while Emily has a presence in Rome, the show is not leaving Paris behind.
โEmilyโs going to have a presence in Rome,โ Star said. โIt doesnโt mean sheโs not going to be in Parisโ.
Filming for the new season took place in Paris, Rome, and Venice. Actor Lucien Laviscount has promised a thrilling ride for fans, teasing, โAll I’m gonna say is strap in. Because it goes left, so far left, and a little bit right this seasonโ.
