The event brought fans and the cast together to reflect on the impact of the series and what to expect from its concluding chapter.

What Did Eric Kripke Reveal About ‘The Boys’ Final Season at SDCC 2024?

Eric Kripke took the stage at SDCC 2024 alongside the entire cast of ‘The Boys’ to discuss the upcoming fifth and final season. In a candid conversation, Kripke expressed mixed emotions about the end of the show. He revealed his gratitude for being able to conclude the series on his terms, a rare opportunity in the television industry.

“I genuinely love this cast. We really are a family,” Kripke shared, highlighting the close-knit bonds formed during the show’s run. He admitted to blocking out the reality of the series ending but acknowledged that when it finally does, it will be an emotional moment for him and the entire team.

What Are the Plans for the Future of ‘The Boys’ Franchise?

During the panel, exciting news about the franchise’s future was unveiled. A prequel series titled ‘Vought Rising’ was announced, focusing on the characters Soldier Boy (played by Jensen Ackles) and Stormfront (played by Aya Cash). Additionally, the second season of ‘Gen V’ was confirmed, featuring a cameo by Chace Crawford’s character, The Deep, hinting at a crossover event.

Who Will Return for ‘The Boys’ Final Season?

Although the final season’s release date remains unconfirmed, Kripke mentioned that filming is slated to take place between November 2024 and mid-2025. Fans can anticipate the return of key cast members, including Antony Starr, Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Jessie T. Usher, and Karen Fukuhara. There is also speculation about appearances by Erin Moriarty, Laz Alonso, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, and Chace Crawford.

Moreover, Kripke hinted at the inclusion of ‘Supernatural’ alum Jared Padalecki in the final season, potentially portraying a new supe character. This casting choice would reunite Padalecki with his former ‘Supernatural’ colleagues, adding an extra layer of excitement for fans.
